  • Petition to Hold Pharmaceutical Companies and the Legal System Accountable for Health Over Profits
We, the supporters of this petition, believe that no pharmaceutical company, judge, or lawyer should have the power to put a price on human health, especially when pharmaceutical drugs have caused harm, such as cancer, diabetes, or other life-altering conditions. Pharmaceutical companies must be held fully accountable for the adverse effects of their products, ensuring that victims receive proper compensation without legal loopholes or corporate influence limiting their rights. The legal system should prioritize justice for affected individuals over profit-driven settlements that undermine public health. We demand: • Stronger Regulations & Transparency – Stricter oversight of pharmaceutical companies to prevent harm and ensure transparency in drug risks. • Fair Compensation for Victims – A legal framework that prioritizes patient well-being over corporate profits, preventing caps on damages for those harmed. Every cancer patient affected by pharmaceutical negligence must receive a minimum of $25,000 in immediate compensation, with additional coverage for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and long-term care. • Accountability in the Legal System – Judges and lawyers must uphold ethical standards that prioritize public health rather than protecting pharmaceutical interests. Sign this petition to stand against corporate greed and demand justice for those harmed by pharmaceutical negligence. Our health should never come with a price tag, and victims deserve full and fair compensation.

  • One Law, One Limit
We need to bring our State's statutes into line with each other and better protect our children against abuse and exploitation. Sexual contact between teens of a few years age difference is a far different concern than the abuse of authority and trust that occurs when an Adult engages in sexual contact with a child older than 16 but younger than 18. The current laws contain a loophole that allows Adult Sexual Predators to coerce or seduce children over the age of 16 into sexual acts. Raise the legal age of sexual consent to 18 years of age in line with the Age of Legal Majority and the age designated on the existing pornography laws to eliminate conflicts and confusion both for law enforcement and the citizens of the State. If you are not old enough to engage in actions that might result in your getting cancer before the age of 18 - such as the purchase of tobacco, then you should not be able legally to make the life-altering decision to have sex. Sign on to better protect our Children and enable Law Enforcement to better protect our Citizens.

  • Congress: Stop Funding ICE’s Violence
On January 24, Alex Jeffrey Pretti was shot and killed in broad daylight at the hands of Donald Trump’s ICE agents. In Minnesota and cities all over the country, we’ve seen these heavily armed, unidentified, and untrained federal agents pointing their guns at peaceful protesters & legal observers, wrongfully detaining U.S. citizens & legal residents, and disappearing our neighbors without due process.  ICE agents are operating with zero oversight. We’ve witnessed countless acts of senseless violence from these out-of-control agents in the first year of Trump’s second term, and it’s only getting worse. We’re calling on Congress to stop funding ICE’s violence and rein in their terror by requiring immediate oversight and accountability. More funding means more brutality, more family separations, and more deaths at the hands of these rogue agents. It’s time to get ICE out of our communities.

  • Urge Frank Pallone Jr. to co-sponsor HR 676 - Medicare for All Act
Tell Frank Pallone Jr. to support HR 676 Summary of HR 676 Expanded & Improved Medicare for All Act This bill establishes the Medicare for All Program to provide all individuals residing in the United States and U.S. territories with free health care that includes all medically necessary care, such as primary care and prevention, dietary and nutritional therapies, prescription drugs, emergency care, long-term care, mental health services, dental services, and vision care. Only public or nonprofit institutions may participate. Nonprofit health maintenance organizations (HMOs) that deliver care in their own facilities may participate. Patients may choose from participating physicians and institutions. Health insurers may not sell health insurance that duplicates the benefits provided under this bill. Insurers may sell benefits that are not medically necessary, such as cosmetic surgery benefits. The bill sets forth methods to pay institutional providers and health professionals for services. Financial incentives between HMOs and physicians based on utilization are prohibited. The program is funded: (1) from existing sources of government revenues for health care, (2) by increasing personal income taxes on the top 5% of income earners, (3) by instituting a progressive excise tax on payroll and self-employment income, (4) by instituting a tax on unearned income, and (5) by instituting a tax on stock and bond transactions. Amounts that would have been appropriated for federal public health care programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), are transferred and appropriated to carry out this bill. The program must give employment transition benefits and first priority in retraining and job placement to individuals whose jobs are eliminated due to reduced clerical and administrative work under this bill. The Department of Health and Human Services must create a confidential electronic patient record system. The bill establishes a National Board of Universal Quality and Access to provide advice on quality, access, and affordability. The Indian Health Service must be integrated into the program after five years. Congress must evaluate the continued independence of Department of Veterans Affairs health programs.

  • Fix Congress
Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling: "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure. *Congressional Reform Act of 2011* 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Maybe it is time. THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS

  • Pledge To Reg
Make the pledge to have in your possession at least 5 voter registration application forms. You can find them in most Post Offices and at your local County government office. Imagine if just 10% of us who abhor Trump register 5 new voters simply by asking individuals you meet, socialize or do business with: Do you vote? Of course, the form is only effective if filled out completely and correctly. Yes, you may register a Republican but the chances are fairly good given Trump's poling popularity, 50-54% disapprove of him, that your registrant will not be pro -rump and you will be doing your part to strengthen the democratic process. Further, while you cannot deny an application to someone who wants one, you can ask: “How do you feel about President Trump,” which may elicit an opportunity for you to say why you are a proud voter. Then you can ask, "Are you registered to vote?” While it is preferable to get a registration form filled out, have a pen in hand, you can also copy the following: usa.gov/register-to-vote on small slips of paper and hand them out to those whom you meet. (In California one can register on line: Register-To-Vote.ca.gov. Or inform them that they can register on the spot with their smart phone by accessing the internet. And very importantly, on the application you will see that 16 and 17-year-olds can preregister). If you are feeling cynical about the possibility of real change, take to heart Rabbi Tarphon's 2,000 year old admonition: “It's not up to you to finish a task all by yourself, but neither are you so free that you can desist from trying (to make a difference).” How much more so in the face of “egregious” evil as so courageously stated by Republican Senator Mitt Romney: “The president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust … Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office that I can imagine." Please help make a difference: Pledge to Reg!
