Mandate that Special Hiring Coordinators, charged with achieving President Obama's 7% goal of the percentage of disabled employees in the federal workforce, actually submit the resumes of the disabled for positions PRE-PUBLICATION as recommended by OPM guidelines. Currently, these coordinators refer disabled candidates to USA.jobs to compete with able bodied, and current federal employees. Despite 25 years of solid IT experience, I have applied for over 100 federal jobs and have not received ONE interview. I am Schedule A disabled. Despite over 20 years of solid experience and a graduate degree, and over 100 federal applications, my wife has received MANY "referred but not selected" notices. She is Schedule A disabled. Selective Hiring Coordinators should present the resumes of the disabled as recommended by the OPM. You can't maintain a vibrant federal workforce with the best and brightest from diverse applicants, without allowing experienced people a fair chance.

Stop the employer/insurance abuse of all workers with justice & restitution for all workers that have suffered on the job injuries, illness or death!

A new resolution in Congress would ensure students who graduate from public colleges graduate debt-free. Contact your member of Congress and tell them to support this resolution to expand access to education!

Our congress borrowed from our social security money again recently. At the same time they gave tax cuts again to the super rich and corporations. The cuts they gave would have almost covered the amount they borrowed that we have paid in from our own paychecks. THIS IS NOT TAX MONEY ! This is money paid by workers for workers retirement or disability!

SeaWorld in San Diego wants to build an enlarged killer whale "habitat," and has petitioned the California Coastal Commission for a permit to do so. But no tank or artificial "habitat" can EVER be large enough! Killer whales, and dolphins, belong ONLY in their natural habitat - the ocean - swimming wild and free! Captivity is cruelty!

National Marine Fisheries Service has issued a permit for the California Thresher Shark and Swordfish Drift Gillnet Industry to drown and kill Humpback and Sperm Whales in their hideous driftnets in California waters! We should be thanking whales, not killing them! United States Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, please direct NMFS stop this at once by cancelling the current permit(s) and never issuing another one.

I oppose HB 859, which would force Georgia's public college and university campuses to allow loaded, concealed guns in most places on campus, including classrooms, theaters, libraries, student health and counseling centers, and faculty and administration offices. In addition, this bill will allow loaded, concealed guns in daycare centers and K-12 facilities, which are located on many of Georgia's public college campuses. Allowing students, faculty, staff and all visitors to carry loaded, concealed handguns on campus will only create a volatile and unsafe environment for all Georgians. I ask that you veto HB 859.
