To demand that within the State of California that all homes vacated and on the market for more than a year (365+1) be purchased, at fair market value established by an independent assessor, by the State of California or regional authorities for the sole purpose of housing the homeless. The homeless, at this point can find work and begin to pay the government back the mortgage at a low interest rate.

Tony Hinchcliffe, the comedian who got on stage at a Trump rally and mocked Puerto Rican, Latinx, Black, Jewish, and Palestinian communities, just secured a lucrative Netflix deal for multiple new comedy specials. Hinchcliffe’s comments about Puerto Rico were so alienating that even the Trump campaign released a statement that his jokes didn’t reflect the views of the campaign.  We're not going to repeat the awful remarks he made—and Netflix should definitely not be giving him an additional platform to spew more vitriol to its 300 million subscribers. Delisting wolves nationwide is not based on science. In 2014 a federal judge ordered that the wolves of the great lake states be placed back on the endangered list due to the fact as stated by the judge the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota did not take into account that their wolf delisting management policy failed to ensure that the wolves of their respected states would be afforded, according to the ESA, an avenue in which they can migrate to known habitat in which they once lived. We urge you to withdraw your nationwide delisting proposal!

Licensing Reqs.: • Attend a firearm safety and handling course. • Score an 80% on a written exam and 100% on operational exam. • Pass a federal and state background check • Complete a mental health examination (this is a tricky part that will probably be extremely hard to implement and validate and therefore subject to removal) Purchasing Reqs.: • Current operational license • Proof of liability insurance worth $25,000 per victim, to be maintained for the entirety of gun ownership • Proof of ownership of secure storage facility • Pass federal and state background checks • 1 week wait period • Mental health check within past 3 yrs. (this is a tricky part that will probably be extremely hard to implement and validate and therefore subject to removal) Operational Reqs.: • Yearly registration, with proof of insurance, of each firearm owned with local authorities. • 5 year license renewal with exception of having to take Safety and Handling course. Fines for violations similar to Driving/DWI laws: 1st offense =3 month suspension of license + $500-1000 fine 2nd offense = 1 year suspension of license +$1500-5000 fine and/or 30 days jail 3rd offense = permanent forfeiture of license and all firearms + $10,000 – 20,000 fine and 6 months - 1 year jail time 4th offense = $50,000 – 100,000 fine and/or 5-10 years jail time Offenses can range from failure to posses current and up to date license, insurance, and/or registration to improper storage of firearms and ammunition. Registration and licensing fees should be used to provide financial support to local law enforcement and their retirement fund as they are most likely to be wounded in the line of duty from gunfire. A portion of the funds should also be used to set up and maintain a victims relief fund, which can be capped at a certain level if not used. In other words the relief fund would be developed and built up to a specific amount, ie $2 million. Once that amount is reached the funds can be directed towards local law enforcement and/or a local mental health care center. All of this would obviously have to be debated amongst local officials, but the funds should be used towards the prevention and relief of gun violence.

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling: "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. Congressional Reform Act of 2012 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

In 2021, I bought and moved into my first home on Lynwood Drive in Washington, Indiana. I did not know of any drainage issues or any flooding issues in the area as I am not from Washington or southern Indiana. In 2022 we experienced our first flood in the home. Water trickled down into our vents and soaked the entire floor in a matter of minutes. My husband and our friend dragged the sandbags I had seen in the garage through the house and out the windows into the front of the house. For three days after, water seeped through the laminate flooring, gushing under every step. I ran dehumidifiers, fans, and the AC for days. I hoped the water was out and soon enough, it went away. I made my fair share of complaints to neighbors and they informed me that the city was looking into the issue. A few months later, I saw city workers on our road and I thought, “Yay! They’re doing something!” Turns out nothing was done to eliminate the problem because yesterday 5/5/24 my house flooded again. I now have a 4 month old baby. His room was flooded. New toys, clothes, diapers all ruined. Not only that, my living room, garage, and kitchen were all flooded just as bad if not worse. If you are familiar with the area, you know that Lynwood Dr sits at the bottom of a very long hill. Well our house sits smack dab at the bottom of the hill right before the road gradually inclines. Water from every direction pools in front of my house. During flash floods, the street is filled to the brim, spilling over into my yard. I am writing this petition to the City of Washington in an effort to have flood prevention measures taken. I am not an expert in this area but I know that there needs to be a storm basin put in place. I know that there needs to be storm drains added to our street. I am a taxpayer. My neighbors are taxpayers. We are in need of help. I am not the only one who experiences this issue. I am one of many.
