  • Extend the Moratorium for Adams County
Dear Commissioners, Please act immediately to extend the current oil and gas drilling moratorium until the November elections, when Colorado has the chance to vote on ballot measures that would provide additional rights and protections for our communities. Adams County residents are now facing the unacceptable dangers of several massive new, polluting, drilling facilities moving closer to more neighborhood homes and schools, jeopardizing the health and safety of families living nearby. Oil and gas production facilities release dangerous toxins and ozone-precursors into the air; place communities at risk for spills, fires, and explosions; and impose unacceptable burdens on residents—such as massive truck traffic, grinding noise, and 24-7 lighting glare. Please do not allow permitting to go forward. Renewing the moratorium is the only way to assure your residents won’t be denied the new protections that the rest of Colorado will benefit from if the ballot measures pass. Please stand up for your residents and extend the moratorium until Election Day or later. Thank you.

  • Disclose the million dollar donor
A political front group connected with Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop reported a contribution from a mysterious company that was formed just one day before it gave $1 million to the super PAC, according to corporate and campaign finance filings. As Politico reported: "nearly half of the $3.2 million raised by the super PAC, Coalition for Progress, cannot be traced to its original source. On Dec. 23, a trust called DE First Holdings was established in Wilmington, Delaware, according to the Delaware Division of Corporations. On Dec. 24, it gave $1 million to Coalition for Progress, according to the PAC’s filing with the Federal Election Commission. Public filings give no indication of who is behind the trust." Laws may not require politicians to identify their contributors, but the public has a right to stop influence peddlers from getting away with this sort of thing. We demand that Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop identify the million dollar contributor and all the secret donors who are buying influence in City Hall.

  • Eric Gunnels : Disability denied in spite of legitimate proof.
After proof being provided Eric Gunnels was denied disability. He has convulsive epilepsy and has never had a drivers license because of said medical issue. He has provided proof of ongoing seizures and has had seven seizures in the past 10 days. He has lost three jobs in past year due to seizures at work yet since it is illegal to fire him his hours were "reduced". He has been compliant with medication and his family pays out of pocket to provide him with care and medication. He is 24 yrs old yet will be penalized for not having health insurance come tax time. We are asking for help. He is not the only person who is affected by current health law changes and who honestly wants to get better. Without state assistance for the opportunity to receive quality healthcare his situation will not improve and could possibly become worse. Please support this effort.

  • Reasonable Parking Restictions on City Streets.
Currently, Parking regulations in the City of Las Vegas prohibit parking vehicles over 8000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or over 24 feet in overall length on a city owned street designated as "Residential" ( LVMC 11.48.090). These restrictions make the parking of many common SUV's and pick up trucks unlawful within the city. Actually, LVMC 11.48.** makes even driving your SUV or pick up home unlawful. Additionally, trailers hooked to a vehicle are counted in the overall length, meaning two legal vehicles connected for towing are unlawful and subject to citation. Our proposal is simple. 1) Raise the weight limit for parking / operation on a residential street to 13,000 pounds. This will include all common pick ups and SUV's while still restricting most commercial Medium and Heavy duty vehicles from neighborhoods. 2) Length of a vehicle should be defined as each individual vehicle as a stand alone. Trailers should be considered on their individual size and not that of the combination of vehicles.

  • Medicare Coverage for the Omni Pod Insulin Pump
There are many insulin pumps on the market! Many of them have tubing attached to a syringe that is placed inside the PDM,they have no information on the meter: regarding the amount of insulin remaining, the present blood glucose level and the amount of insulin that will correct a High Blood Sugar, or prevent you from overdosing by taking too much Insulin! You can go swimming with the Omni Pod or take a bath and soak for a period of time without the Omni Pod falling off or stop working from being in the water! You can also wear the Omni Pod to take a bath or a shower! You can swim while wearing it,sit in the tub and take a bath. of insulin that will reduce a blood sugar, allows you to know if your blood sugar is too low to take a dose of insulin! The people @ Insulet Corporation are there 24/hrs a day and are well informed regarding all issues dealing with the Omni Pod. If you have a problem with the PDM or the POD you call insulet they immediately send out a replacement!

  • Soteria Houses for People in Crisis
We need low-cost, effective solutions to the mental health crisis in America. Soteria Houses are the answer: community homes with peer-support, run by people who've been there. For a fraction of the cost of psychiatric wards, people can drop in when they're in crisis, get the emotional support they need, a place to stay, healthy home-cooked meals, a garden to relax in, and well-trained response teams on-site, 24/7/365. There are rehab houses and dry-houses in San Francisco, where people can pay, say, $800 per month for room and board, and live in a supportive community for however long they need to get their lives in order. This is great, compared to the $30,000+ paid to psychiatric hospitals where people are traumatized and stigmatized, shamed and controlled, drugged and intimidated, and their self-control vitiated. There can be houses with different specialties and levels, just as there are for, say, alcoholics. In communities where people live, not set away in industrial parks where the disconnected are made even more so.

  • Vote No!!! A Carvana Fulfillment Center Should Not be In Richmond Heights
The City of Richmond Heights must vote to reject the petition submitted by Carvana, LLC. Carvana is seeking approval from the City of Richmond Heights for a conditional use permit and modifications to a development plan to permit the construction of a glass, multi-tiered structure that will be located in the south end of the Galleria parking lot. The Planning and Zoning Committee rejected this proposal at a public hearing on November 21st, 2019. Carvana is appealing the decision to the city council on February 3rd (date changed from January 21st) and offering concessions that do not minimize the impact of the structure on the neighboring community.

  • Connecticut must lead on climate and clean energy
We are citizens, ratepayers and clean energy supporters - and we want you to go bold for clean energy and climate action! Connecticut's Comprehensive Energy Strategy (CES) should: 1. Accelerate renewable energy by getting 50% of our electricity from renewable energy by 2030, like our neighbors in New York. 2. Let everyone go solar, rather than limiting our energy choices. We should be expanding access to solar through community solar, not closing it down. Right now, Connecticut should lead the country in combating climate change, not join the President in moving us backwards.
