  • Urge Google to Stop Collecting and Retaining All Location Data
The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade – representing a dangerous assault on Americans’ liberty and privacy. The reality many now face is their digital footprint could be weaponized by right-wing state governments to prosecute those seeking reproductive care. For example, Google currently collects and retains user location data, which can be easily acquired by right-wing state governments to identify people seeking abortions. And while Google recently announced they will automatically delete the location data of users who visit "particularly personal" locations – including abortion clinics – this is inadequate to fully protect one’s privacy. Such a gap in one’s location data from Google could for instance be used as evidence by right-wing state governments to prosecute those visiting abortion clinics. No one should be tracked and targeted for exercising their personal health decisions. Google must delete all users’ location data to ensure the safety and privacy of those seeking reproductive health care.

  • Call on Congress: Skip Israeli PM Netanyahu’s Speech!
Extending Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an invitation to address a joint session of Congress as he wages a brutal war in Gaza undermines efforts to secure a desperately needed ceasefire and bring the hostages home. I urge you to skip the speech.

  • Tell Walmart to Give Thanksgiving Back to Workers and Families!
I am disappointed at the announcement that Walmart stores will start sales at 8 pm on Thanksgiving Day to get a few steps in front of the competition. Walmart makes profits of more than 16 billion yearly. The company can afford to give its employees this holiday to spend with their families. This early opening is one more example of Walmart’s disregard for its employees. As the largest employer in the country, Walmart could be setting a standard for businesses to value families, but instead, this is another Walmart policy decision that hurts the families of workers at its stores. I urge you to give Walmart employees their holiday back. That’s why we’re here supporting workers and calling for change. Our country needs Walmart and big corporations to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Walmart has a responsibility as the country’s largest employer to create good jobs. Walmart can do the right thing, and give Thanksgiving back and allow workers to spend time with their families.

  • FBI Investigate numerous kidnappings, multiple child rapes, physical and mental abuse, and death ...
According to numerous articles, prior investigations, affidavits and sworn testimony, billionaire Jeffrey Epstein lured numerous young girls as young as 12 to perform sexual massages for numerous wealthy associates. These incidents apparently took place on private jets, mansions and a private island. There were parties also apparently attended by young girls. Apparently, many of these underage girls were also raped, including forcible rape and physically and mentally abused. There are sworn statements concerning physical abuse and death threats. We do not know how many because only a couple have come forward, in spite of severe intimidation and even being told they would have to pay court fees. The women who have come forward are afraid for their and their families lives still. Jeffrey Epstein was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge, but was found guilty as a pedophile. However obviously there are numerous pedophiles and rapists and powerful wealthy men who severely mentally and physically abused numerous young girls who are still living in pain. These now young women some likely parents deserve compensation, and many likely could use psychological counseling. According to an affidavit one 13 year old girl allegedly was told by Donald Trump that a girl named Maria age 12 had disappeared (implication was that she was murdered , she was also slapped, threatened by Mr. Trump who said that he could do whatever he wanted with her and then forcibly raped her) Please read more: http://www.snopes.com/2016/06/23/donald-trump-rape-lawsuit/ http://www.news.com.au/finance/work/leaders/donald-trump-accused-of-savage-sexual-attack-on-a-13yearold-girl/news-story/6585a49357159ff2fdc3ff3933370500 Thank you!

  • President Obama: Extradite Victor Jara's executioner
March 12, 2015 Barack Hussein Obama II President of the United States The White House Washington, DC. Dear President, We, artists and writers of the world, respectfully ask you to expedite the request for extradition of Pedro Pablo Barrientos Nuñez, former Chilean army officer charged by Chilean tribunals as one of the direct perpetrators of the murder of world-beloved singer Victor Jara on September 16, 1973. The request was issued by The Supreme Court of Chile to the US Department of State on January of 2013. Barrientos has lived in the United State since 1990. His last known address was 475 La Vista Dr. Winter Spring, Florida, 32708. On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, Judge Miguel Vázquez Plaza officially ended the investigations and 12 people were indicted, among them Barrientos, now the only fugitive in the case. Victor Jara was a renowned theater director, poet, singer and composer. After his arrest on 9/11/73, his body, found in a vacant lot with 44 bullets, showed evidence of horrible tortures. Victor Jara was and is an international treasure. As such cruelty shocked the art's world, this extradition request is the last chapter in the decades-long judicial investigations that will bring to a close the long search for justice by Victor's family.   Dear President, your action in accelerating this three-year old request will send a strong message to those on the side of silence and cultural annihilation. To quote the late Pete Seeger, "Quite often a good singer is punished ...(but) as long as we sing his songs, as long as his courage can inspire us to great courage, Victor Jara will never die" Please add your voice to the international community of artists on behalf of Victor Jara. Please expedite the request for extradition. Sincerely

  • Counseling for Racist Tweeter During President Obama's Speech
Dear President Cale, Alabama.com reports that University of North Alabama football student posted racist, hateful tweets during the President's speech in Newtown, CT, last evening (12/16). (http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/12/north_alabama_player_tweets_ra.html) I call on the UNA to require immediate and regular counseling for this student before allowing him to return to campus or classes. This type of language, this type of hatred, and this type of misguided sense of priorities cannot and should not stand in our society. We need to speak up about such behavior and language, and take action to curtail it, if we can ever hope to heal from and to prevent hate-based tragedies in the future. I am purposefully leaving out the student's name, because I do not think that he should gain an audience or a following as a result of this behavior. Please understand that I also do not believe that this student should be jailed or punished or threatened--that will only exacerbate the problem. I feel that this student is simply misguided and angry and that by engaging in regular sessions with a professional, he might learn to have more empathy for people who are different than him. He might learn to work to fight oppression rather than to participate in it. He might have empathy for those who are suffering as a result of the tragedy in Newtown, and he might understand why many of us needed to hear from our President in these trying times. I must emphasize that I honestly wish this student the best, and I do not wish him any ill will. We must learn to forgive and to engage in constructive dialogue in order to promote a better, healthier way forward for all. I also encourage the UNA to hold regular sessions with students about confronting racism, hatred, and stereotyping.

  • Change Congress entitlements
Winds of Change.... Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. _*Congressional Reform Act of 2012*_ 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

  • Time in Rehabs for addiction recovery
The Affordable Care Act must be amended to provide for a minimum of Ninety (90) days inpatient drug or alcohol treatment up to a maximum of One Hundred Eighty (180) days per year at a facility certified to provide such care by the Secretary of Health of the state in which it is located. Every day in this country 119 people die from drug overdose, and another 6,748 are treated in emergency rooms. That averages out to an overdose related hospitalization every 13 seconds and an overdose death every 13 minutes. Drug overdose is now the leading cause of accidental death in the United States, outstripping traffic fatalities or gun homicides. And every year it gets worse. In addition to the terrible human toll, substance abuse costs the U.S. economy over $600 billion annually. Effective treatment can dramatically reduce these costs. According to several conservative estimates, every dollar invested in addiction treatment programs yields a return of between $4 and $7 in reduced drug-related crime, criminal justice costs, and theft. When savings related to healthcare are included, total savings can exceed costs by a ratio of 12 to 1. Major savings to the individual and to society also stem from fewer interpersonal conflicts; greater workplace productivity; and fewer drug-related accidents, including overdoses and deaths. My 24-year-old son, Anthony, died May 31, 2014, following a six year battle with opioid and heroin addiction that included three unsuccessful short term treatment programs, each lasting less than 30 days, which was all that insurance would pay for. For most people, this is simply not enough time to recover from the assault addictive drugs make on the body and to restore the life skills that keep a person from relapsing. Research tells us that effective inpatient treatment leads to long term sobriety and fewer relapses. Ninety (90) day residential drug rehab is suggested as the minimum length of time for effective treatment. Anecdotal evidence gathered from post discharge patient interviews suggests that long-term treatment at a drug rehab facility can decrease the risk of drug addiction relapse by up to 73%. That can mean the difference between addiction and recovery—or even life and death. Tell your U.S. Senators and representatives: The Affordable Care Act must be amended to provide for a minimum of Ninety (90) days inpatient drug or alcohol treatment up to a maximum of One Hundred Eighty (180) days per year at a facility certified to provide such care by the Secretary of Health of the state in which it is located
