I support diplomacy with Iran. I’m disappointed that Senator-elect Peters is calling for new sanctions that would violate the interim agreement and kill the talks. I urge Senator-elect Peters to change his position and support diplomacy.

Dear Board Members and District Leadership, I am writing as a concerned member of our school community regarding the pressing need for substantive action to create a truly inclusive and supportive environment. While our district’s DEI statement pledges a “safe, secure, stimulating, and welcoming” learning environment, the current practices fall short of these assurances. Our community is in need of clear, actionable policies that protect and empower all its members. Immediate Action on Gender Justice Our district must adopt affirmative policies to proactively support trans and non-binary students. The current reliance on lip service and vague assurances leaves students, teachers, and staff to navigate issues of gender-based discrimination alone. We take some of this guidance from the recent statement by a coalition of states’ Attorneys General, including New York AG James. I respectfully request that the following actions be implemented immediately: • Establish a Working Group: Form a parent, teacher, and staff working group dedicated to developing policies on gender justice for NPCSD, ensuring robust community input. • Affirmative Pronoun Policies: Implement clear guidelines that ensure trans and nonbinary students are consistently referred to by their correct pronouns. • Educator Support: Develop policies that protect teachers and staff who include gender diversity and inclusion in their curricula from harassment by intolerant families. • Inclusive Facilities Signage: Install signage on bathrooms that clearly welcomes everyone to use facilities that align with their gender identity. • Student Support: Develop policies that ensure there are multiple lines of recourse for families in the event that students experience peer-to-peer discrimination and bullying, for example, requiring that families meet with the school social worker and principal as a first step when an incident is reported; • Curricular Support: Provide comprehensive support and curriculum development materials to all K-12 educators so that topics such as pronouns, trans inclusion, and gender equity are integrated into instruction. Broader Equity and Inclusivity Concerns While the above proposals specifically address gender justice, broader issues of equity remain unaddressed. Our district’s track record in updating and disseminating key documents and resources is concerning: - It has been three years since the minutes from the Racial Equity Initiative Advisory Committee were posted. - It has been four years since the Action Plan for “Addressing Racial Equity and Creating A Culturally Proficient District” was updated. - It has been five years since an equity report card was posted on the district website. - The link for “Racial Equity Presentations” on the website is currently nonfunctional. These issues, while focused on racial equity, underscore a broader neglect of diversity. Inclusivity must encompass all facets of our community, including religion, ethnic background, different abilities, neurotype, socioeconomic status, gender identity, and sexual orientation. I also note that a “Gender Support Plan” previously available under the Students tab appears to have been removed, further evidencing the need for more proactive and comprehensive policies. Our district must move beyond rhetoric and demonstrate its commitment to the values of inclusion and equity through decisive action. I urge you to address both the immediate gender justice needs and the wider equity issues to ensure that every student, teacher, and staff member is fully supported and valued. Despite disgraced former president Donald Trump’s repeated efforts to bully, intimidate, and lie his way out of accountability, a jury of brave everyday people convicted him of 34 felony charges on May 30, 2024.  Now it's up to the judge to respect the will of the people and ensure that the sentencing is fair, reflects the seriousness of Trump's felonies, and sends a clear message that nobody is above the law.  Sign the petition to demand that there is no special treatment for Trump!

Donald Trump is an unmitigated bigot who regularly launches verbal attacks against immigrants, people of color, women and Muslims. Every day that you are associated with him betrays the progressive values that Starbucks has come to stand for and ties the Starbucks brand to his bigotry. As Starbucks customers, we are asking you to relocate your stores that are in buildings named after Donald Trump.

The correlation between mass shootings and domestic violence is increasingly evident. The shooter in the Sutherland Springs, Texas church tragedy reportedly had a history of domestic violence including brutally assaulting his former wife and infant stepson and then abusing his wife two years later. Abused women are five times more likely to be killed if their abuser owns a firearm, and domestic violence assaults involving a gun are 12 times more likely to end in death than assaults with other weapons or physical harm. Domestic violence offenders commit more than a million acts of domestic violence each year, resulting in hundreds of deaths of spouses, partners, and even children. Call your representatives and senators. Tell them: We want the loopholes in existing gun laws so that no perpetrator of domestic violence gets access to firearms. We want elected officials to support any and every bill that strengthens background checks.

90 American citizens (96% white men) have killed 674 people and injured 1153 people in mass shootings since 1982. 112 people killed and 500+ injured this year all (100%) by white American men. It's time we start taking gun control seriously. If extreme vetting is what we need to ensure that terrorists don't cross our borders, then the same extreme vetting needs to occur here at home to ensure our safety. That white guy who lives next door with the NRA hat is potentially more dangerous than any terrorist from Syria (or any of the "terrorist counties" who's already on a list or a ban. It's nice that all the politicians have sent their prayers. As of September 17, nearly 58% of Ohio’s public K-12 students are required by their local school to wear masks in schools. On September 1st only 35% of Ohio students were required to wear a mask. This increase comes after Governor DeWine met with superintendents across the state to provide them with the information they need to get support for mask mandates from their school boards. We all want our children to have in-person learning five days a week. While vaccinations remain the best protection against severe COVID-19 cases, masking will help protect those that can’t yet receive the vaccine and adds another layer of protection for those that have been vaccinated. Findlay City Schools currently does not have a mask mandate in place. Tell our school administrators and school board that you support masking in school for all grade levels to keep our students, teachers, and staff safe.

This is to petition Mr. Ratan Tata to stop the construction of 'TATA Camelot' in the name of the common good, and in the name of architecture. TATA Camelot's 19 towers, each between 12 and 35 stories tall, are planned on a site just to the north of Le Corbusier's famous Capitol Complex in Chandigarh. The site is on land that was hallowed by Le Corbusier, intended to be held as a low-rise agro-pastoral landscape between the Capitol and the Himalayan foothills. While there is plenty of developable land available all around Chandigarh, this particular project will destroy the integrity of the design of Capitol Complex and the adjoining Sukhna Lake, while unleashing destructive development in an architecturally and ecologically precious area. As an architect (Cornell ’62), as a Pritzker Prize Jurist and as the Chairman Emeritus of one of the most distinguished industrial houses of India that has long been associated with Indian modernism, Mr. Ratan Tata is implored to uphold the highest values of the institutions that he is signatory to.

It is outrageous that in 2012, voters were forced to wait in long lines for up to 7 hours to cast their vote. And according to a recent report, an estimated 201,000 Floridians were discouraged from voting on November 6th because of these long lines. That is completely unacceptable. We must ensure the right to vote for all Floridians is not suppressed by enacting these electoral reforms without delay: 1) Return the number of days of early voting to a mandatory 14 days 2) Keep the early voting locations open for no less than 12 hours a day 3) Provide Supervisors of Elections more flexibility in picking early voting locations 4) Limit the length of Constitutional Amendments placed on the ballot by the legislature to 75 words 5) Allow voters to update their voter registration address on Election Day if they move from one county to another We the undersigned believe the right to vote shall not be infringed.

The California Department of Conservation Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) is the state agency responsible for protecting Californians from the dangers of fracking, and they have been driving blind. Even though fracking has been taking place all over the state, DOGGR is just starting to think about how to protect Californians from its harmful effects with regulations. On June 12, DOGGR is holding a workshop on how Californians want to "safely regulate" fracking in the Los Angeles area. Join us in telling them that regulations won't work - we need to ban fracking now! The inherent dangers of hydraulic fracturing have been demonstrated over and over by in fracking-related disasters across the country - from flammable tap water to major health issues, communities around the country have seen it all. To protect Californian public health and the environment, the only viable solution is to ban fracking.
