NM Hair Salons/One Client at a TimeAllow a licensed beauty professional to perform a beauty service privately with one client in the salon / per stylist at a time starting as of Monday, April 27, 2020. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the state of NM and the local Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized and deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community. Servicing one client at a time (while wearing a mask and gloves) poses little to no risk of spreading the virus, as compared to 20 or more people in a grocery store or 10 plus people at restaurants picking up food.18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tina Driggers

The Need For the Life Saving ESCR Flood Protection on NYC’s LES WaterfrontThe East Side Coastal Resiliency Plan, (ESCR), is one of many critical life-saving infrastructure projects needed to protect the lower east side, including New York City’s Housing Authority (NYCHA) and low-income affordable housing residents, vulnerable populations along the waterfront. The City of New York has begun implementing ESCR earlier this year beginning at Stuytown Cove (Project Area 2**), but recent lawsuits to stop flood protection for NYCHA and adjacent affordable housing developments in Project Area 1* have slowed the process of raising East River park, which would make way for a resilient new park expected in 2026. This leaves the future and livelihoods of over 28,000 Lower East Side NYCHA and area residents unprotected. Frontline, resident leaders have been critical in the public design process. These negotiations ensured: phased construction, open space and park mitigation throughout the greater neighborhood, the preservation of the Lower East Side Ecology Center, and a total of 1,800 new trees planted in the community. The Lower East Side’s NYCHA and affordable housing residents are still grappling with the consequences of Hurricane Sandy, and the recent Hurricane Ida demonstrates that climate change is our greatest threat, especially to low-income communities of color. Therefore, and as a matter of environmental justice, the immediate continuation of ESCR’s flood protection in Project Area 1 to protect NYCHA and affordable housing’s Lower East Side Waterfront is the only acceptable option. *Project Area 1- is located in Manhattan's Lower East Side between Montgomery Street and East 15th Street, including the East River Park. **Project Area 2- encompasses work between East 15th St. and East 25th St. including Asser Levy Playground, Stuyvesant Cove Park, Murphy Brothers Playground, as well as local streets around the Con Edison facility.226 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Frontline Communities

Require Members of the Clergy in NY State to Be Mandated Reporters (of Child abuse)The NY State Senate needs to approve Senate Bill 2023- S3158. The Assembly approved its version of this legislation, however, since January, 2023, it has been sitting in the Senate Children’s and Family's Committee. The Bill will enact the Child Abuse Reporting Expansion Act, also known as The CARE ACT, which will require clergy members to be reporters of child abuse or mistreatment. We must contact our NY State Senators and the Governor and ask them to expedite/move this bill forward and sign it into law so that children, and adults, in NY State will be better protected from sexual predators. The NY Senate must accomplish this as soon as they reconvene in Albany, in January 2025, and have Governor Hochul sign it. The passage of this bill will be the last step that will help reduce sexual abuses by the clergy in NY State.29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ottavio LoPiccolo

SAVE LAWRENCE O'DONNELL'S SHOW, "THE LAST WORD"!!!!!Stop NBC News Chairman, Andrew Lack, from silencing the few remaining liberal voices in mainstream media! Mr. Lack is following the disturbing trend of other right-wing, pro-Trump broadcasting companies like, Sinclair Broadcast Group, who are swallowing up all the left-leaning air-time they can to advance the agenda of cruel conservatism.826 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Lisa Garcia

Increased Funding for Peer Support Services to Help with Drug and Alcohol AddictionPeer support services are a very useful tool to help people stop their drug and alcohol addictions. These services help provide people with a space where they can go and share their experiences with their addictions. These spaces are non-judgmental and help people create support networks with one another, coping skills, and help improve people’s overall well being. Peer support services may help people recover and offer better solutions in different ways to battle their addictions. More funding for peer support services can bring more resources to help people with their addictions and possibly bring more awareness to these programs that help people with their addictions.65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carlos Torres

DEMAND The NY Attorney General Charities Bureau- Vacate the Sale of Stolen LandDear Attorney General James and Officers of the Charities Bureau, We, the undersigned petitioners, formally demand the New York Attorney General’s Charities Bureau immediately vacate the 2012 sales approval issued under Index No. 4687/2012 (Kings County Supreme Court), authorizing the wrongful sale of 804–806 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY—a property historically owned by the late Rev Charles Murdaugh, founder of Mt. Zion Church of Christ Disciples. In 2000, following Rev. Murdaugh’s death in 1999, his personal property at 804 and 806 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, was fraudulently transferred into the name of the church. In 2012, when the church petitioned the court to approve the sale, the Charities Bureau knew or should have known that the church did not lawfully own 804 and 806 Myrtle Avenue. This court-approved sale was granted due to the Charities Bureau’s failure to object to the submission of a deed for an entirely different property (802 Myrtle Ave), the absence of the actual deed for 804 and 806 Myrtle Ave, the lack of any Surrogate’s Court administration, the absence of notice to rightful heirs, and the lack of legal authority by those who petitioned the court. The role of the Attorney General’s Charities Bureau is explicitly to scrutinize sales petitions for any indication of fraud before the courts approve the sales of church properties. The failure in discharging this duty has facilitated an egregious miscarriage of justice. The Attorney General’s Chief of Charities Transactions, James Sheehan, has been well aware of this matter since 2014, yet he has refused to take action to rectify this injustice. While other instances of charity fraud have been corrected over the years, his continued inaction in this case displays clear selective enforcement and a disregard for equal protection under the law.The failure to address this blatant fraud is a betrayal of public trust. A 44-unit luxury apartment building now sits on land stolen from Charles Murdaugh, with the involvement of the New York Attorney General’s Charities Bureau. We demand the Charities Bureau act within its supervisory capacity to move to vacate the sale and initiate corrective action, pursuant to CPLR § 5015(a)(3), which allows relief from an order obtained through fraud, misrepresentation, or other misconduct. The New York Attorney General’s continued inaction only deepens the injury caused by this unlawful transfer and undermines public trust in the oversight of charitable and religious property. We demand justice, accountability, and restoration.232 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Perri Sands
