  • Solar & Farming
Solar is not a threat to agricultural activity, but rather a harmonious development that can assist the farming community.  Farmers can utilize solar as a steady revenue stream to help smooth out the impact of low agricultural prices. Allowing solar development on agricultural lands and reduces pressure to convert farm and farmland to single family homes. The Town of Moreau should support farmers and landowners who want to support solar. The Town should not adopt a solar law that contains arbitrary soil protection measure that only apply to solar. Solar is temporary land use, and preserve the underlying agricultural land. Please support our farmers and landowners and allow for solar.

  • Urge NH's Gov. Sununu to join the U.S. Climate Alliance
Last week, Donald Trump recklessly announced that he will pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement, which has been signed by 195 countries in an effort to stop catastrophic climate change, which is accelerated by carbon pollution. In response, governors from California, New York, and Washington launched a coalition committed to the carbon reduction efforts called for under the Paris Agreement, which has now been joined by a total of 12 states and Puerto Rico. But NH's governor, Chris Sununu, has not yet committed to joining. Will you urge Gov. Sununu to enlist New Hampshire in this new coalition and do everything possible to fight climate change?

  • Tell Governor Cuomo To Raise the Age of Criminality
Dear Governor Cuomo, it is time to raise the age of criminality for juvenile offenders in New York. In the state of New York, a person sixteen years old or older is sent into the adult criminal justice court regardless of the severity of the crime. The most recent statistics indicate that 45,692 sixteen and seventeen year olds were arrested as adults in New York. Approximately 75% of the crimes were for misdemeanors. Juveniles in adult facilities are more likely to suffer physical and emotional abuse, and they are 36 times more likely to commit suicide. The initiative to raise the age has been successfully implemented in 48 states. Juveniles remanded to the juvenile justice system have a better chance for rehabilitation.

  • Protect Trans Students in Virginia!
Photo Credit: ACLU Governor Youngkin is attacking vulnerable children in order to wage a culture war based on hate, discrimination and the policing of trans and gender expansive young people for the "crime" of being who they are. A new directive from his administration would create new policies that directly attack and undermine any progress made to protect trans students. The new policy would require schools to categorize transgender children by their “biological sex” when it comes to using the bathroom, locker room and other facilities and participating in activities. They also bar students from using their correct name or pronouns without outing them to potentially hostile parents or guardians.

  • Tell the FCC: Reject the Charter / Time Warner Cable (TWC) Merger
I’m calling on the FCC to reject the proposed merger between Charter and Time Warner Cable. The cable and telecom industry is already too consolidated. The proposed deal would further reduce competition and choices for consumers, likely leading to higher prices and poorer service. Further consolidation of the industry would hit Latinos and other underserved communities particularly hard.

  • I Pledge to Fight Back
The new President and Congress threaten to cut health care and other vital services and deport millions of immigrants who are part of our communities. Low- and moderate-income people would be hit hard, while new tax breaks would hand trillions of dollars to corporations and the rich. I pledge to speak out against these dangerous choices, and to support Senators who vote to stop them.

  • Senator Nelson: Support Iran Negotiations to Prevent War
We, the undersigned call on you to support the Administration's current negotiating policy of diplomacy with Iran, and oppose crippling and provocative new sanctions on Iran, that could lead to more war. Allow diplomacy to continue, and vote against more war.
