Port of Vancouver Commissioners, Oil giant Tesoro is proposing a new oil export facility that would transform the Port of Vancouver into one of the West Coast's largest oil ports—and would dramatically increase the carbon pollution that is fueling the droughts, heat waves, wildfires, and severe storms affecting our kids and communities. Tesoros proposal could put as many as 1,400 trains per year—four full trains of oil every day—on routes through Vancouver neighborhoods. These trains would carry the same kind of oil that tragically exploded, devastating the community, after a train derailment in Lac-Megantic, Quebec just weeks ago. We cannot take this risk with our communities in the Pacific Northwest. Right now, Vancouver is a leading shipper of wind turbine components. If this proposal were approved, instead of being a clean economy leader, Vancouver would be adding an oil terminal that would incentivize more extraction of dirty fossil fuels, only deepening our dependence on dirty energy at home and abroad. Please reject Tesoro's dangerous proposal.

President Trump is doing incalculable damage to our democracy with his baseless claims about the 2020 election. And he’s using his frivolous lawsuits to raise money that he’s funneling into a slush fund -- which he can use to pay off himself and his family. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) must ensure that no politician can undermine our democracy for personal profit like Trump has. Commissioners must close the loophole that allows leadership PACs to be used as personal piggy banks.

The Paycheck Protection Program is a $660 billion fund approved by Congress that was intended to help small businesses during the coronavirus crisis. But too many small businesses didn’t get the money they desperately needed to survive this economic crisis. Instead, it's Donald Trump’s associates, donors, and firms working for him who got millions of dollars, along with other big corporations. The United States Treasury Department, whose job it is to properly administer the Paycheck Protection Program, must ensure that these companies are required to pay back all of the money that they received.

Give Hazard Pay to Truck Drivers during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

We are asking the leaders of the Church (prophet, apostles, and Church Education System Board of Trustees) to consider changing the name of all Brigham Young Universities to a name that does not include Brigham Young. We know that such a change would require an adjustment, but recent changes in the names of many church entities, such as Ensign College (formerly LDS Business College) and the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (formerly the Mormon Tabernacle Choir), prove that with leadership, it can be done.
