  • 10th Floor Rent Strike
#TenthFloorStrike Our requests are fairly simple and urgently needed: 1) All evictions to be halted immediately. There is no possible reason for someone to be put out on the streets right now or ever. 2) Moratorium on rent collections. We demand that no one be harassed, fined, or threatened during this. 3) Basic safety precautions need to be enacted immediately. This may include daily cleaning and sanitizing of common areas. We also ask that other health and safety issues be addressed as soon as possible (rodents, insects, mold, lead, radon, and so on). 4) 10th Floor, stand with us in demanding healthcare for everyone in America. This crisis highlights how broken our healthcare system is, especially for those most vulnerable in our society. Every single American deserves access to affordable and reliable healthcare, not just virus testing and treatment. 5) Strive for housing security and equity for all in the long term. As the crisis passes we ask every member of 10th Floor to work with us in their internal processes and in local, statewide, and national legislation to secure safe housing for all.

  • Ending The Deficit In 5 Minutes
This is a issue you need to make happen !!!!!! The The Country Has Been Ruined No One Wants To Stand Up For American Workers !! It Is A Disgrace !!!! I'm sure he can, but the government would not want him to do that, because the majority of them are getting their pockets lined from the corrupt banks, oil, insurance, auto makers and everyone in big business !!!!! Warren Buffet, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling: "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of ...GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to SHARE this on Face book or forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. Congressional Reform Act of 2012 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. 8. No President ,Congress, Or Government Employees are allowed the use of planes or vehicles for vacation or any other use except during work time. If each person SHARES this on Face book or contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time? THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

  • Bring Back Mr. Gioia! Exceptional leader for our graduating class
In September 2024, our beloved math and science teacher at SANY Citizenship & Science Academy, Mr. Gioia, was honored with the prestigious Atomic Educator Award for his remarkable influence on student growth. His dedication and teaching excellence have contributed significantly to our chidren's school environment, making learning a joyful and engaging experience for us all. On January 7th, 2025 parents received a letter stating that Mr. Gioia had been dismissed. Fifth-grade students are now without a dedicated science and math teacher. Mr. Gioia's absence has not only caused a void in our classrooms but also in our hearts. He was much more than just a teacher; he was an outstanding leader, a motivator, an inspiration, and a guiding figure. We believe that kids are SANY deserve better and we invite you to review our petition advocating for the reinstatement of Mr. Gioia. The loss of Mr. Gioia hampers our graduating class's educational growth. We believe the students of SANY Citizenship & Science Academy deserve better, and it is in their best interest to bring back Mr. Gioia. In the past, his teaching methods have yielded positive results, and his pedagogical skills are highly valued by both students and parents. His departure has caused a setback that we cannot afford, especially in this critical graduation years when academic success will greatly impact our children's future paths. It is our earnest request that you respond to the school community's request for the reinstatement of Mr. Gioia. We are confident that your support will make a difference. The lack of an exceptional science and math educator is already being felt by our students. We parents are very concerned about the academic regression in the progress our scholars have made. We sincerely hope that the decision to let Mr. Gioia go will be reconsidered by your administration and that the voices of both parents and students be reconsidered for the benefit of SANY citizenship graduating class. When we prioritize the well-being of our children, we can achieve positive change, and we are confident that this oversight will be rectified in a timely manner.

  • Caregivers Against Overcrowded Classrooms.
Please consider signing this petition to present to the Rochester Public School District and Rochester Public School Board of Education.  The Rochester Public School District has recently made the decision to combine the two sections of third grade Spanish Immersion program at Riverside Central Elementary into one single section/classroom. Currently, there are 34 students enrolled in the second grade Spanish Immersion program who intend to continue into third grade for the 2025-2026 school year, with one student on the waiting list. The district has decided to cap enrollment at 34 students and has closed enrollment for the third grade Spanish Immersion program, making it very unlikely they would open a second section. By closing enrollment for the second-grade class, the district is doing a great disservice to native Spanish-speaking children in our community, many of whom join the program at various grade levels.    School staff, parents, and students are not in favor of larger classrooms for students! The teacher’s union has a target goal of capping classroom sizes to 28 students per 3rd grade classroom. Overcrowded classrooms negatively affect both students and teachers. When there are too many students in one room, it becomes harder for teachers to give each student the attention they need. This can lead to students falling behind, especially those who need extra help. Learning in a packed classroom can also be distracting. Noise levels go up, space is limited, and students often feel less motivated. It’s harder to participate in discussions or ask questions when there are so many people trying to speak. For teachers, managing a large class can lead to stress and burnout. It becomes more difficult to create effective lessons, grade fairly, and maintain classroom discipline. One of the key narratives in the November 2024 Referendum (Ignite Student Learning - 2024 Referendum) was to protect class sizes and strengthen academic programs. Rochester Public Schools need to keep its word!   Why is this important? To protect public education.

  • Release Daniel from ICE detention Immediately
Daniel's family, with the strong backing of community organizations like Latinos Unidos Siempre and supporters from across the country, is urgently calling for the immediate release of Daniel (a fierce defender of human rights who was abducted from Salem, Oregon, by ICE in February 2025).  Daniel’s continued detention is unjust, and we demand that Oregon and Washington State officials take action and release Daniel immediately.  Daniel’s Story:  Daniel, a beloved member of our community in Salem, Oregon, was unjustly detained by ICE in February of this year and was abducted outside his own home as he prepared to go to work. He is the father of four U.S.-born children and has lived in Oregon since the age of 3. Oregon is his home. As a young person, Daniel was a victim of the school-to-prison pipeline. He spent ten years of his youth in prison due to convictions that were later pardoned in 2021 by Oregon Governor Kate Brown. During his incarceration, Daniel transformed his life: earning a GED, an associate’s degree, and gaining international recognition for his leadership and debate skills through the Toastmasters Program. He has been a strong advocate for his fellow detainees, many of whom have all experienced unjust treatment. Because of his advocacy, he has faced retaliation, including solitary confinement and being denied proper nutrition. While sometimes being left to starve, he and others have also reported several inhumane conditions within the facility, including: • Severe overcrowding forces detainees to sleep on the floor • Inadequate food, particularly for those with medical needs who require specific nutrients • Pregnant detainees are not receiving proper prenatal care or medical attention • Frequent harassment, humiliation, and threats from facility staff • Gross violations of state and federal health and sanitation guidelines When detainees speak out or advocate for their basic rights, they are often punished by being placed in isolation or having their communication with the outside world cut off entirely. Daniel’s continued detention is not only unjust, it is a direct attack on our community, a father, and a human rights advocate.
