Before the next election, reverse the outrageous gerrymandering that has resulted in the majority party winning only five of Pennsylvania's 18 House seats in the recent Congressional elections and put into place a nonpartisan system that will assure fair elections in the future.

In ancient Greece any man who gained too much power bulldozing his way to politics could be exiled if enough citizens wrote his name on a pottery shard; that was called (Ostracism) and worked well in guarding their young Democracy. Let us use the power of the law to kick them out of our country.

Large scale mining is the most damaging land use there is. It destroys neighborhoods, permanently alters the land and causes a significant increase in noise, damage to roadways, air degradation and ultimately increase taxes to residents. The only ones who gain from the magnitude of mining that has proposed on White Schoolhouse Road (3-1/2 miles from Rhinebeck Village), are the owners, Red Wing Properties. That is why residents have created a petition to Elizabeth Spinzia, Town Supervisor, which says: "Red Wing Properties has proposed a huge mining operation on White Schoolhouse Road (a residential area) that will significantly destroy wetlands and change the character of Rhinebeck. By signing this you attest that you support a change in the zoning ordinance that would prohibit the proposed expanded mining and the associated very heavy truck traffic on White Schoolhouse Road in Rhinebeck." Please sign this petition support our opposition to save the rural character of our neighborhood.

Dear Elected Tea Party Republican: You're betting that my political attention span is shorter than a media news cycle. But, I promise I will VOTE on election day--regardless of how many petitions I've sign, groups I've joined or Facebook pages I've liked. Because I know signing isn't the same as voting!

Congress wants people who are receiving government aid to submit to drug testing. Congress is paid through the government, by we the people. In light of the recent arrest followed by a slap on the wrist of Rep. Trey Radel a system should be put in place where members are randomly drug tested and/or alcohol tested if they are working on the floor. We hire these people and entrust them with very important decisions. We deserve to have a sense of security that these decisions are made with sober minds.

There should be legislation that prohibits a company from firing or prevents it from hiring an individual because of a crime that was committed over 20 years ago. One's record should not be cleared, but it should not be used to discredit one's employability.

Divest our state and national funds from the gun industry. The Bottom line is the only thing that will get the industry's attention! Stop the proposed cuts to SNAP and fund Unemployment Benefit.
