All the action movies we know and love wouldn’t be half as good if it weren’t for the stunt performers who bring those stories to life. But at the Academy Awards, Hollywood’s biggest night, the action industry is completely left out of the ceremony. Ask the Academy Awards to honor the contributions of the action industry with a best stunt designer category!

Community residents in the Kingsboro/Bulluck neighborhood and neighboring communities in Tarboro and Rocky Mount, NC are demanding that the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners vote NO on the sale of county-owned land in Kingsboro Business Park to Energy Storage Solutions for a $6 billion, 300-megawatt data center, citing a lack of clarity about community economic benefits, projected impact on resident energy costs, and concerns for long-term environmental and health risks. Edgecombe County economic development must prioritize its own residents -- not big technology companies, not the exploitative AI infrastructure that helps them grow even bigger -- and focus on protecting our rural community resources and quality of life. Millions of Americans are facing a devastating health care cliff.  In just a few months, expanded subsidies under Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), are set to expire. And unless Congress takes action to extend them, more than 20 million people who purchase their insurance through either their state-based marketplace or HealthCare.gov will see their monthly health insurance premiums skyrocket. Tell Congress: Extend Obamcare subsidies now to protect affordable health care for millions. Right now, insurers are already finalizing 2026 rates based on the assumption that these subsidies will disappear.  Trump and Republicans have already cut millions to Medicaid—and the longer Congress waits, the harder it will be for Americans to receive health care and stop this widespread health care crisis before it’s too late.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will accompany the U.S. delegation to the Winter Olympics in Italy as part of a “security” contingent. This has already sparked outrage abroad, with Italian officials and residents saying ICE agents are not welcome at the Games. Normalizing ICE’s presence anywhere is wrong, especially at a global event historically rooted in unity. Sign the petition to call on Team USA to speak out against ICE’s presence at the Olympics!

Florida District 113 currently has no representation in the Florida House of Representatives following the appointment of former Representative Lopez to the Miami-Dade County Commission. We write as either residents of Florida House District 113, or concerned Florida residents from other districts who believe that ALL FLORIDIANS SHOULD HAVE REPRESENTATION. District 113 includes Brickell, Key Biscayne, Shenandoah, The Roads, Coral Gate, and parts of Little Havana, Coconut Grove, Edgewater, Silver Bluff, and Downtown Miami, home to nearly 180,000 Floridians who today have no elected voice in Tallahassee. Florida law provides a clear process for filling legislative vacancies through a special election, and we respectfully urge you to act without delay. The 2026 Legislative Session begins in January, and major decisions affecting housing, insurance, education, climate resiliency, taxes, and transportation will be made before the session ends in March 2026. Ideally, District 113 should have representation before the session concludes. But even beyond floor votes, our community needs a representative, someone accountable to constituents and available to assist residents navigating state policies and agencies. And there is always the potential for special legislative sessions or an extension to the March date.  Leaving nearly 180,000 Floridians without representation for an extended period undermines the principle of equal representation. We respectfully ask that you promptly call a special election for Florida House District 113 so our community can choose its representative. This request is nonpartisan and rooted in a shared democratic value: every Floridian deserves representation, regardless of party. What can we do? Already, resistance from local communities along with electronics bottlenecks have forced roughly half of all US data center developments to be canceled or delayed. In DeKalb County, a proposed text amendment regulating data center developments will come before the Board of Commissions for a vote after another public hearing on May 12, 2026 @ 8:30 a.m. at 178 Sams Street, Decatur, GA 30030.  The current moratorium on data center developments expires on June 23.  It's crucial that residents show up and show out to express their opposition to data centers in DeKalb.  Ahead of the May 12th meeting, sign and share this petition, call and email the commissioners, and make it clear that you will not accept extractive economic "development" at the continued cost of our community's health and well-being

Donald Trump has ordered Texas Republicans to redraw the state’s congressional districts in an attempt to pick up  more Republican seats in the House in the 2026 midterm elections. And to no surprise, under Governor Greg Abbott’s leadership, they are. In response, a group of Democratic lawmakers have left the state in protest against discriminatory congressional maps that favor Republicans. Without enough lawmakers on the floor, the bill can’t come to a vote. Texas Speaker Dustin Burrow signed warrants for the lawmakers’ arrests—and now the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has agreed to help find them at the request of U.S. Senator John Cornyn. This flies in the face of the function of the FBI—which serves to prosecute federal crimes, not be at the beck and call of states embroiled in political fights. Lawmakers have a right to break quorum, and the FBI is flushing taxpayer money down the drain with this politically motivated manhunt. Add your name demanding an end to this federal overreach and this waste of resources.
