Governor Brown recently announced the state budget which includes tax increases and service cuts to make up for a huge $1.7 billion dollar deficit. Meanwhile, a recent report found Oregon spends twice as much on incarceration as it does on college and our high school graduation rate is the third worst in the nation. A new study shows Oregon spends tens of millions of dollars on a death penalty system that isn't used. There hasn't been an execution in almost 20 years! We should free up the millions spent on this system and put it towards other priority issues facing our state, such as schools, healthcare, or solving more sexual assault cases. Gov. Brown should immediately commute Oregon's death sentences to life in prison with no parole and redirect the savings into funding critical services!

We all know what Lindsay Graham is bucking for. Say "NO" to Senators before Sessions departure and confirmation process.

Mr. Fox should be encouraged to retract his statement, apologize and investigated for racism by the DOJ. Using the media to encourage or otherwise endorse murder is outrageous and should not be taken as a joke, but as a threat to harmony and peace in America.

21 freshwaters species cling to existence on Alabama’s Coosa River where 7 dams block 225 miles of the river. The river was once one of the most biologically diverse rivers in the world. But the dams caused one of the largest extinctions in North America -- nearly 30 freshwater species were killed. We ask that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission [FERC] complete more thorough environmental studies to ensure protections are in place to balance the river’s health with hydropower production.

We, the student leaders of Binghamton University, hereby petition President Stenger for the establishment of an Independent Entrepreneurship Institute. Whereas, there exists an entrepreneurship concentration consisting of one active class in the School of Management, and whereas, there exists an experimental three course graduate sequence in the Watson School, let it be resolved that universal entrepreneurship courses should be established and controlled through this Institute. Recognizing that startups are responsible for all net job creation in the United States, and observing that 50 percent of new college graduates are unemployed or underemployed, the University is urged to take action by empowering all students, regardless of discipline or year, to seize opportunities for innovation and launch new ventures. Let it be resolved that this Institute shall catalyze the next generation of innovators to restore the Southern Tier to greatness and thrust Binghamton University into national prominence.

We respectfully request a timely and efficient opportunity to recall members of the Birmingham City School Board, and want specifics on what recourse the citizens of this city have when they are unsatisfied with the performance of our Board members. Thank you very much.

Detroit Public Schools can not solve its financial and academic problems with a draconian Emergency Financial Manager (EFM) at the helm. Detroit Public Schools need the EFM (Mr. Roy Roberts) to sit down with the union president (Mr. Keith Johnson) and negotiate in good faith a fair and reasonable contract.

Fix our Federal Government. Limit our US and State Congressmen to two consecutive terms in office.
