End the tolls for the Verrazano Bridge for residents of Staten Island via use of EZ-Pass.

In a democracy, the will of the majority should be honored. The Affordable Care Act was approved by the President, Senate, Supreme Court, and two Presidential elections in which it was a main campaign issue. It certainly deserves a chance to be approved by a vote by the full House of Representatives. Pass it through committee for a full vote.

From the government shutdown to the debt ceiling, Tea Party Republicans have wreaked enough havoc on our country. Stop holding the country hostage to further your political gains; vote on a clean budget resolution and raise the debt ceiling without demanding cuts to Social Security, Obamacare, or any other vital programs.

Children are bored and depressed in public schools today. They do not learn because the curriculum and instruction are lifeless and drill-oriented. Sitting still without talking for long periods of time is not conducive to learning. Teachers need to be allowed to use child-directed projects that engage children and older students in their learning and to differentiate instruction for those who learn in different ways.

I'm here writing this petition today in hopes someone will sign this petition. My name is Derek Miller I am a 24 year male. I am from Newark, New Jersey. I'm a father of one, a three year old beautiful little girl. I titled this petitioon " trying to do write by my daughter." I choose that name because that's what I'm trying to do, and the only way I know how to do that is by furthering my education. "Stop the Archdiocese of NYC from closing down the greatest all girl private school that the Bronx and NYS has ever seen". YOU would think the Archdiocese of NYC would care about a school who has a high Graduation rate; of female students who after graduation attends some of the most top colleges..but that is not so...For twenty years the Archdiocese has been trying to shut down Saint Puis V high school..Twenty years! But Sister Mary Joe Young had fought hard to keep this school afloat... She held many fund raisers to bring in the money so females from all levels of life who needed that second or even third chance of obtaining a good education can have it at Saint Pius..She didn't care if the girl were poor, rich, pregnant or a female who preffered same sex relations...Sister Mary Joe looked at everyone in the same light knowing no matter what situation you are in you can succeed in anything and everything you do; if you truly needed..She was all the students stone; so they can break that glass ceiling ...And you know what, many have thanks to Sister Mary Joe's shoulder that we have stood on to make it... Local public school boards, Principals, and Site Based Management Teams should never agree to allow the showing of cinematic media that is inclusive of content that goes against the discretion of parents, especially when the psychological and emotional welfare of minors are at stake. Parents should always be given notice well in advice, which inquires and requires their permission.

Donald Trump's has said and done many horrific things since he took office, but the most recent red line for me is that he has rolled back environmental protections at a time when these protections need to be increased, not reduced or eliminated completely. Recently ABC News put out an alarming report on climate change which stated that we have about 13 years to aggressively do something about it, and if we fail to act within that time period our planet is doomed. We will experience unprecendented and catastrophic weather events and our planet will be on a path of no return. We see these changes already happening. We cannot have a President or a political party that refuses to act on this at this time. We must come together and not just for ourselves but for the lives of future generations, not just in this country but across the globe Therefore, I am asking you to stand with me and do whatever you can to save this planet.
