There’s a wave of Amazon workers, including drivers, unionizing with the Teamsters. But Amazon is continuing to engage in union-busting, making every effort possible to refuse workers their rights to unionize and fight for better pay, benefits, and working conditions. Late last year, Amazon workers at the SDF9 facility in Shepherdsville, Kentucky became the first semi-truck and tractor trailer drivers to unionize at Amazon in the U.S. Amazon responded by challenging the union, adding to its pattern of union-busting. “Amazon workers across the country will not accept crumbs from a multitrillion-dollar company that disrespects them,” said Randy Korgan, Director of the Teamsters Amazon Division. More than 10,000 Amazon workers nationwide are seeking to unionize with the Teamsters. In Queens, NY, package delivery drivers rallied for union recognition and threatened to strike if Amazon executives don’t meet their demands. Amazon exploits many delivery drivers by hiring them through third-party companies, which is the case at the DBK1 facility in Queens. Teamsters and workers are challenging this “abusive” third-party system.

The Census plans to continue to count prisoners for the 2020 count where they are incarcerated.
