President Trump Must Answer for RapeJean Carroll, you have explained that what caused you to come forward about your accusation against Donald Trump, 6/21, is the New York Times article about powerful men raping women... “Ms. Carroll said she decided to write about her experience now because she felt she owed her readers transparency. 'I just thought, it’s time, I owe it to my beloved readers. I can’t keep up this facade.' Jean, the most powerful man in the world raped you, as you describe below. We who sign this petition urge you to file a case against Donald Trump with New York's Attorney General as New York state has no statue of limitations against rape. We urge you to act because what Donald Trump actually did to you, is what with our own ears we heard him glory in as he described in the “access Hollywood” tape: “I moved on her like a bitch ...you can do anything … grab women in their ….” (10/21/16) Even if he was just an average citizen he should have to defend himself against your accusation, and the accusations of sexual misconduct by at least 16 other women. How much more so should the President of the United States not be allowed to commit illegal and abhorrent sexual behavior against others.99 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Philip Posner

Naming Woodside Queens (Neighborhood Of Heroes)Woodside Queens, a community in New York City, has had many of its young sacrifice so much for the city, state, and country, with the most casualties in the Viêt Nam War of any zip code (11377) in the country; two Congressional Medal of Honor winners; numerous decorated soldiers; many public servants from commissioners to beat cops; a large number of 9/11 responders; up to today with the loss of Firefighter Michael Davidson. It is time that recognition be given to such a dedicated community. Please help and sign the petition to give credit where it due.70 of 100 SignaturesCreated by MatthewCostello

Let Us Keep All of the Kensington Plaza Benches! We, the diverse peoples of Kensington, want the benches at Kensington Plaza to stay. Until recently, our community, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in America, did not have a place where we could gather. This past spring we welcomed its first small and simple place to meet in the heart of the commercial district--Kensington Plaza. With the mere addition of four benches and some trees, an ordinary sidewalk got changed into a friendly place. Now there's a place where the elderly can rest and families can chat. We have taken responsibility and pride in our Plaza. The Kensington Plaza stewards work with local businesses to keep it clean and we have spent our time and money to beautify this location. In the spring, we hope to be greeted by butterflies at the planters and daffodils in the tree pits. Without the benches it won't be a plaza--there will only be a sidewalk. We would be devastated if our benches were taken away simply because of the wishes of a very few people. Please let us keep our Plaza!256 of 300 SignaturesCreated by bridget elder

Bring Edgardo Home From ICE DetentionMynor Edgardo Perez, a local leader in the immigrants’ rights movement from New Milford, CT has been detained by ICE! We need you to take action to get him released and back home! On May 17th, Edgardo had a court date in Brewster, NY. When he arrived at the Court House, ICE was waiting for him and detained him. ICE agents pushed him to sign papers to self-deport, and verbally abused him, calling him a “scumbag,” and “A nobody.” They told him he might as well self-deport because he’s going to waste everyone’s time and he’s going to be deported anyway. He is now detained at the Orange County Detention Center in Goshen, NY. We stand against this dehumanization, verbal assault, and coercion. We stand with Edgardo. We are asking for a stay of removal for his deportation — immediately! #BringEdgardoHome!!151 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Mary Levine

MSNBC Suspend Chris Matthews or Give Bernie Equal TimeMSNBC should suspend Chris Matthews, host of Hardball, because of his constant shilling for Hillary Clinton. In every episode of Hardball, in every "exclusive" interview with Clinton, he gives her endless time to make her case, repeats her talking points, gives her softball questions, denigrates Bernie Sanders and his people powered movement and reinforces the narrative that she will be the Democratic nominee. Matthews should be removed from the air for the duration of the campaign or he should be required to give Bernie equal time.19,521 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Lauren Steiner

Stop Oak Tree Over Regulation in LA CountyWe ask that the LA County Board of Supervisors on August 26, 2014: 1. Reject the new proposal 22.44.950.B1 that oak trees over 6" diameter be subject to a $1,086 - $8,724 fee for significant trimming or removal. The current trigger is 8" diameter and should not be changed to 6". 2. Consider correcting other aspects of the current oak tree over-regulation. For example, consider measures to: reduce fees and create more of a sliding scale, require expensive reports less often, reduce high replacement ratios and provide exemptions for basic property maintenance projects.67 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Heather Widen, AICP
