Funding For Treatment For Addicts And Families of Addicts In New HampshireNew Hampshire has the least treatment centers per capita than any other state in the USA. Addiction is a disease and requires treatment. Waiting lists and lack of funding for our unisured addicts makes access to treatment almost impossible here in NH. Funding for more treatment centers and resources for addicts and family members of addicts is desperately needed to ensure recovery for all. Prison is not the answer.437 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Heidi Sanderson

Unity Township Speedway Opposition-New Proposal 2014Speedway has resubmitted plans seeking zoning variances on the four (4) acres formerly occupied by the old Mt View Inn property in order to construct a gas station & convenience store. These variances include the permitting of fueling on the property and deviations to the township landscaping ordinances as well as signage. This proposal will significantly increase traffic entering/exiting Route 30 and more importantly increase the potential for congestion and accidents in an intersection currently rated a “D” by PennDot. In addition, the proposed Speedway will also contribute to light/air pollution and significantly increase vehicular noise in the community in which we live. We oppose the health, safety, & welfare negative implications that this will bring. As a Unity Township homeowner, I strongly oppose this development as proposed.173 of 200 SignaturesCreated by East High Acres

Net Neutrality is critical for the dissemination of local news and informationIn today's world, one cannot exercise one's First Amendment rights without a free and open internet. Ensure New Americans Gain Full Access to the PollsAsian Americans, part of a growing immigrant population that includes Latinos, Africans and Eastern Europeans who constitute nearly 20% of the voting age population in Illinois, are propelling its growth and economy. There was a 53% increase in voter registration among Asian Americans from 2000-2008, but in a 2012 voter engagement study, 35% of respondents cited barriers to voting including: language access, transportation to the polls, and limited job flexibility. This pattern is reflected in other immigrant communities, and effectively disenfranchises new Americans when outdated and inefficient election rules create barriers to participation. Illinois requires voters to register 27 days prior to an election, one of the earliest dates in the United States. Fragmented and little-known exceptions to this rule create more confusion than enfranchisement, leading to the use of provisional ballots, over 70% of which are never counted. Voting rights are crucial to a healthy democracy, so let’s get Same Day Registration in Illinois and give everyone the opportunity to access the ballot.189 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kathleen Jung Hee Fernicola

New Jersey MVC: Stop discriminating against atheists! In November, New Jersey resident Shannon Miller tried to get a vanity plate reading "8theist." The Motor Vehicle Commission rejected it as objectionable. So she tried "BAPTIST" instead... and it went through without a hitch. American Atheists' President David Silverman had his "ATHE1ST" plate rejected too, but at least that time the MVC pretended it was a "clerical error" — now it's just ignoring all Shannon's messages. Tell the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to revise its policies and stop dictating what beliefs are objectionable!9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Eric Holder: Investigate Florida's New Voting Rule! The Elections Department has quietly implemented a policy to close the bathrooms at all polling facilities, forcing voters, including those with disabilities, to choose between civil liberties and basic bodily functions. Please, join us in calling on U.S. Attorney General Eric holder to investigate this new Florida voting rule, and stop the GOP from even more ludicrous attempts at voter suppression!951 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Make GMO Food Labeling the Law in New York!Dear Governor Cuomo, New York State Senators, and Assemblymembers: I have a right to know what is in my food. Genetically engineered foods (GMO foods) are pervasive in the U.S. food system yet largely untested, possibly harmful for humans to eat, and unlabeled. I deserve the right to be able to make informed choices when choosing foods to buy for myself and my family. I urge you to stand up for my rights as an American and support (and cosponsor) Assembly bill A.617 and Senate bill S.485, which would require the labeling of genetically engineered foods offered for retail sale in New York.16,357 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Stacie Orell

Shame on the New York Jets for hiring Michael VickShame on the New York Jets for hiring Michael Vick, the despicable dog torturer/murderer. Dogs that managed to survive the hell-on-earth created by Vick are still being cared for and rehabilitated years later by animal rescue groups and individuals. The Jets have no business bringing this monster to New York.68 of 100 SignaturesCreated by PJ Clark
