    The people behind A.L.E.C. have decided that the Congress will not support their rediculous right wing legislation so they are providing states with the power and the financial means to pass legilation in each state including the "Stand Your Ground" law which allows people to commit murder without arrest or trial, if the killer claims self defense. According to the news such crimes have been committed in Florida such as the recent murder of Trayvon Martin.

  • GUN CONTROL
    Policing crime and paying medical cost is largely borne by law abiding non-gun owning citizens. A fee to annually register guns can alleviate some of the cost of both legally owned and illegally possessed gun crimes. This also permits the tracking of guns to reduce the ability of criminals to obtain guns. In order to sell a gun it would have to be de-registered and re-registered by the new owner.

    The Bangor Daily News reported that the LGBT discrimination bill a Maine State Senator is poised to introduce is nearly identical to the bill that caused a firestorm in Indiana, with major businesses pulling out of the state and widespread public outrage. The Maine bill would make it legal to discriminate based on sexual orientation, meaning that a restaurant could refuse to serve a gay couple. Will you help stop this outrageous bill in its tracks?

  • NY Needs REAL Ethics Reform Now
    We are past the time for incremental changes in our ethics laws. The ethics deal in the budget should only be considered a down payment on the open and vigorous legislative process we need to overhaul ethics rules here in New York. We demand that the public's business be conducted in public. It is unacceptable in a functioning democracy that an important ethics reform package gets fast tracked without the benefit of public review.

  • Coca-Cola provide free Desani water at all GA polling sites
    Given the importance of Coca-Cola as a long-established GA company, the company should issue an immediate press release that they will position a truck full of Desani water at every polling site in the state during next election to provide free water to anyone standing on line waiting to vote. Only examples of mass disobedience to this new GA law will force the politicians to retract this horrible attack on our democratic rights!
