Seventy-three percent of Americans want the wealthiest 1% to pay their fair share of taxes. I am one of them. Please restore fairness to the Maine tax code rather than throwing 65,000 low-income and disabled people off MaineCare and putting 4,400 healthcare workers out of work. We can balance our state budget if Maine’s wealthiest 1% pay the same state and local tax rate as the rest of us.

We, the business owners and employees of Tennyson Street businesses and restaurants, are experiencing a severe loss of income due to Tennyson St. construction. There has been a delay in construction due to city sewer and water lines being installed too close to the surface which had to be redone, thereby ripping up recently replaced road material. This has further delayed the completion of this project and road closures are almost daily, leading potential customers to leave the area thinking it is off-limits. Also heard are several complaints re: lack of parking or no knowledge or signage of where to park. Walking several blocks to visit a business has been a challenge for some people, especially those who are elderly, handicapped, or w/babies and/or small children. We feel that compensation should be allocated to us to offset the signifcant loss of income which is leading many of us to contemplate whether or not to keep our businesses open.

Establishing an accessible, trustworthy official at each U.S. base to whom Third Country Nationals can report human trafficking violations. 2. I want to express how i feel the punishment definitely did not fit the crime here and i will explain. I knew forgetting/losing my ID card for school was my fault and i need to be more responsible. But having the money to buy a new ID, first thing upon arrival, the next day and still being punished for it is not fair. Furthermore, lunch detention may not seem like a big deal. However, it does matter to me. I take school and my educational career seriously. I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society, a 99.7 gpa and a student with no history of any disciplinary violations. Moreover, I thought purchasing an ID this morning, the only feasible time to obtain a new school ID, was the appropriate means of taking responsibility for the warning i received yesterday. What other time could i have purchased the school ID? I could not have bought an ID yesterday because i did not have five dollars when i was given a warning. However, at the first opportunity to resolve the issue, which was this morning, i was still punished. I understand the rule is that the ID must be with the student upon arrival. However, there is definitely a grey area in the district’s rules, and further clarification is needed. I still do believe there should be further discretion utilized for the kids who are trying to do the right thing. To summarize, I wanted to make the RIGHT people aware that i am upset and i know i’m not alone not with the district’s rules and how unclear and always changing they are . I am a take action kind of kid and starting this petition for kids to sign to ask the district to clarify its rules. I FULLY believe purchasing the card 10 minutes after arrival should absolve the punishment. I understand the district is trying to change with the times and keep everyone in the building safe. But, i stand by urging the district to have more discretion with its students and not punish kids for trying to correct their mistakes.

We, the undersigned, of communities adjoining the Garden State Parkway, make a formal request of our grievances. We require a sound barrier wall constructed to alleviate the following issues. As a result of the destruction of an uncounted number of trees along the New Jersey Garden State Parkway that once served as a natural noise barrier, the noise level is excessively loud and unacceptable. These major construction projects, coined as safety projects, have had devastating impacts upon on our communities. Our homes, which are our major investment in our future, are losing their value as a result of the encroachment of highway into our neighborhoods. The increased levels of vehicle exhaust are contributing to poor air quality and serious health issues. The extreme noise levels are a major factor in sleep deprivation for adults and children alike and have severely diminished how we function during the day. The depleted and now-sparse trees make us extremely vulnerable to errant vehicles that can now crash into our communities. The clear-cutting of trees in the hundred-foot center median puts drivers at risk of glare from oncoming vehicles, which further puts these same communities in danger. This is a severe loss in quality of life we will not tolerate and for which we require redress of our grievances.

We hereby urge Congress to support the End Polluter Welfare Act—that would repeal $113 billion of tax-breaks, handouts, and subsidies for the fossil fuel industry over the next 10 years—so we stop giving out checks to companies who are destroying the planet.

Chambers a man who served in the Military, was a correction officer was killed brutally by the White Plains Police in his own apartment while begging them not to shoot him. Never would this happen in a White community. The young male in the Bronx hovered in the bathroom while his grandmother and younger brother watch the massacre. The third again running towards his home in Pougkeepsie killed by police. It shows us our home is not safe. Two of these officers have been exonerated.
