As voters in Rep. LaHood's district, we feel it important to have him update us in person to help us understand his political positions.  News from his office has not been responsive to emails and phone calls from concerned citizens. In particular we need to know details of his plan of action to deal with the current feelings of unease regarding uncontrolled cuts to federal workers and the questions concerning security and privacy for private citizens in the wake of unfettered information access by unelected parties.

A recently leaked video reveals that the head of a right-wing dark money group bragged to a roomful of donors about crafting the outrageous new laws in states like Georgia and Florida that are designed to silence eligible voters. Congress has a duty to put a stop to this blatant and shameful voter suppression. We call on our representatives to pass the For the People Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act -- which will protect voters from these partisan tactics and limit dark money’s hold on our democracy.

We the undersigned, citizens and residents of the United States, stand for a society where the natural world is revered; diversity is embraced; human dignitites are upheld; and people are celebrated for peaceful, creative, informed, and ecologically sound living. Understanding that the president elect of this nation poses grave threats to our society, our ecology, and the world as a whole, we pledge to do our utmost to counter the platform on which he was elected. We, the true majority, dedicate our efforts to preventing the great harm that could come from this new administration.

With only a few weeks left before the new Congress and incoming Trump administration, it is now more urgent than ever that Democratic senators do whatever it takes to confirm judges in the lame duck. The Senate must prioritize these confirmations, as it's the last chance to confirm judges we know will protect ordinary people’s rights  before Trump and Senate Republicans start stacking our courts with extremists again. The Senate needs to be creative in their efforts. Whether it's working weekends or staying late–judges must be a priority. 

A recent wave of high-profile exits from X (formerly Twitter) underscores a growing crisis on the platform—one that’s driven by Elon Musk’s reckless overhaul of the site.  Activists, celebrities, journalists, and everyday users alike are abandoning X, and many of them are leaving to build communities on more thoughtful platforms like Bluesky, Mastodon, and Substack.  Users are moving on from X in a rejection of its new toxic environment, where harassment runs rampant, misinformation goes dangerously unchecked, and harmful political extremism is openly encouraged. 

Wealthy entertainment executives are devaluing writers and actors while Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Disney, Discovery-Warner, NBC Universal, Paramount and Sony make massive record profits. Enough is enough. It’s time to give actors and writers a fair deal! The current entertainment industry business model is not sustainable as the practices of the streaming companies have destabilized the entertainment industry—that’s why 11,500 WGA writers and 65,000 actors are on strike demanding a new contract which must include fair pay and protections for writing and acting to be a sustainable profession.

Earlier this year, Donald Trump began a redistricting battle by urging Texas Republicans to introduce newly redistricted maps in order to secure more Republican wins in the 2026 midterms. This strategy has spread to states all across the country, with Republicans introducing new electoral maps in Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, and more on the way. Democrats have fought back with their own attempts to redistrict their states to counterbalance these blatant attempts to rig 2026 elections.  Democrats must continue to fight and stop Trump from silencing voters!

Donald J. Trump State Park carries a name that does not represent our values as a community. And yet a New York State park carries the name of a man whose actions have deeply divided our nation, who incited a deadly insurrection to try to overturn a democratic election, who continues to promote lies and profit off of it, and whose tarnished legacy has left a dark mark in our history. Join us in supporting the call to rename Trump Park and make a positive change for our future!

This is well beyond sabre-rattling. Our new ironically-titled National Secretary Adviser, John Bolton, has openly called for "regime change" in Iran, and everything the Trump administration is now doing is leading us away from peace and toward another war in the Middle East. Have we learned nothing from our misadventure in Iraq? Congress needs to provide a fierce counterpoint by stepping up and speaking out forcefully against these dangerous warmongers who have the ear of White House.

Do you ever wonder what happens to the sad abused animals ASPCA broadcasts all day and night on television and the internet? Do you ever wonder how many of these animals wind up dead? We want to know what ASPCA is doing with the nearly 300 million tax free dollars they raise each year. Did you know the director at ASPCA makes over 500 thousand dollars a year? The highly paid staffers make between 200 and 300 thousand dollars a year? Millions upon millions of dollars are paid to these staffers along with huge advertising outlay. Those TV ads aren't cheap. When citizens ask questions on the ASPCA Facebook page, they are deleted and the citizen banned from the site. When we call ASPCA to ask about an animal posted all over Facebook and the internet, television and beyond, our calls go unanswered and are not returned. We want answers. The ASPCA is a PUBLIC CHARITY and does not pay taxes on the billions of dollars it pockets. We know of many animals this charity has killed and refuses to answer questions about.
