We call on President Obama and Secretary Sebelius not to grant Gov. Christie's Sept. 2011 waiver request to give New Jersey's Medicaid programs for nursing homes to private, managed care companies.

Dear Editor/News Director: Everyday young men and women in our armed services die yet you do not report these losses as they happen. We are at war and over 6200 young people have given their lives. They deserve a moment in your broadcast or a dedicated space in your publication to be named and honored. We are at war, what bigger news topic is there? Your audiences need to be informed of these casualties so they can individually and collectively honor their fallen fellow citizens. The reality of war should be on the forefront of the news. Yet you have been remiss in bringing this reality to your readers/viewers and doing your part to honor the people who are losing their life in service to our country. Whether one agrees with our wars or not, certainly all Americans can agree that these people deserve our national respect. As journalists, keepers of our collective journals, it is your duty to include this coverage in your reporting. We urge you to create a moment in your broadcast or a column in your publication to show, name and honor the fallen.

The US Govenment needs to invest in green energy projects - solar, wind and water.

I would like the U.S. Congress to impeach and remove President Trump from office for his abuse of power. This involved his command of members of the US military who employed lethal weapons, including tear gas, rubber bullets, and life threatening flash grenades against peaceful protesters in Lafayette Square on June 1. I would like signers of this petition to contact their Congressional Representatives to urge them to draw up articles of impeachment of President Trump for the crime of abuse of power described above.

The state of Mississippi should have a flag that represents its hospitality, inclusion, and charity. The current flag represents terror, intimidation and hatred. The current flag has in its top left corner a replica of the rebel flag, a flag used to represent the Confederacy (treason, disunity, and the appreciation of slavery as an acceptable and profitable and necessary institution). In the past hundred years, the flag has been used to intimidate and terrify minorities as it's been flown while heinous, terrifying acts of violence were committed against them - including burning churches and lynching. In Mississippi's Declaration of Secession (out of the United States and into the Confederate States of America) read as follows: "Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery-- the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun. And how many of you wouldn't be appalled at a swastika on any official representation of Germany? But it's a part of their history. But it's a part of their heritage. Being willfully ignorant on this and to allow the Rebel flag to have place in any state representation is to overtly condone hatred and violence.

The New Hampshire Republicans are trying to pass a 30-day residency law for same day voter registration even though their last voter registration bill was ruled unconstitutional. This must be stopped.
