Raise the Minimum Wage to $15 Per Hour in NM*If adjusted for increases in worker productivity since 1968, the minimum wage would be $21.72. *If the minimum wage had grown at the same rate as the income of the 1% since 1968, it would be $22.62. **If adjusted for inflation since 1956, the minimum wage would be $10.56. The United States has become, or is quickly becoming, a de facto plutocracy/oligarchy. Before people begin thinking of guillotines, this must end. Why should the 1% be allowed to steal a greater and greater percentage of the profit created by the labor and minds of the 99% - the workers? If the government was not a de facto plutocracy/oligarchy, why would it let the minimum wage fall to where an individual working 40 hours a week is living in poverty? What significance does the word "minimum" have to these mendicants to the plutocrats/oligarchs? Workers unite and sign this petition. It is step 1.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Sclafani

No Titanic Mess at 1515 South Van Ness AvenueUnited To Save The Mission firmly requests delaying planning approval of 1515 South Van Ness until: Proposition C has been voted on by San Francisco voters, interim controls are in place, the Calle 24 Latino Cultural Special Use District is in place, MAP 2020 is implemented, and negotiations with Lennar for possible site acquisition for the construction of 100% affordable housing on the site are attempted. “A vast array of Mission District residents, businesses and organizations remain committed to preserving our neighborhood for its poor and working-class residents, many of them Latino. If Lennar’s 1515 South Van Ness proposed development is approved, it will only accelerate the displacement of our community and its economic and cultural diversity,” says Erick Arguello of Calle 24 Latino Cultural District. Roberto Hernandez of Our Mission No Eviction called on the Planning Commission “to reject Lennar’s proposal and for Lennar to transfer the property to community hands so that we can develop it for the glaringly unmet need of affordable housing.”339 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Tracy Rosenberg

Tell President Obama: Stop oil trains and put firefighters and the public first! We need to stop oil trains and give local fire departments the resources they need to protect public safety. The federal government can take three immediate first steps: 1. Immediately ban dangerous DOT-111 rail cars carrying highly flammable crude oil. 2. Require that oil companies notify local fire officials whenever trains are carrying volatile crude. 3. Establish a 30 mile per hour speed limit for all oil trains. Safe speeds are easiest way to keep trains on the tracks and prevent accidents. With oil trains crisscrossing our nation – through our towns and near our homes and schools – it's only a matter of time until the next catastrophic oil train disaster. We can't allow the oil and rail industries to leave our firefighters holding the bag when it comes to oil train safety.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ashley Allison
