Host a Town Hall During Recess: Rob BresnahanAs your constituents, we are signing the petition to express our disappointment and frustration at the lack of in-person public forums available for us and the people in our community to meet with you. We are directly impacted by the chaos and dysfunction caused by President Donald Trump and unelected billionaire Elon Musk’s brutal firing of American workers and the proposed slashing of public services and programs like Social Security and Medicaid. We have serious concerns about the future of our public schools, postal service, and support for veterans. Meanwhile, the issues voters care about—the rising cost of groceries, affordable housing, and health care—are getting worse, not better. We urge you to schedule in-person town halls so that you can hear directly from the people you were elected to represent, and be accountable for the decisions you are enabling or supporting. There is still time for you to do right by your constituents and meet with us in good faith to hear our concerns. Sincerely, PA-08 residents11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cassie Kaye

Tom Barrett Must Hear Us to Represent UsThe residents of Michigan’s 7th Congressional District demand that Congressman Tom Barrett hold an in-person public town hall immediately. As an elected representative, it is his duty to meet with the people he serves, listen to their concerns, and provide direct, unfiltered answers about the issues impacting both the community and the nation. Barrett has avoided public town halls, leaving constituents unheard and ignored. With the next legislative session approaching, an open, unscripted forum is necessary—no pre-screened questions, no scripted talking points, no controlled narratives. Just real conversation in a public setting. How is he speaking for us if he is not hearing from us? Why This Matters: 🔹 Accountability: Elected officials are responsible for meeting with the people they represent, not hiding behind carefully curated statements and selective meetings. 🔹 Transparency: Open discussions on critical issues—education, healthcare, Social Security, economic policies, and job losses in the district due to harmful federal decisions—are long overdue. 🔹 Accessibility: Constituents deserve a direct opportunity to engage with their representative. Emails and private meetings are not a substitute for public accountability. 🔹 Real-Life Consequences: People in this district are losing their jobs, losing benefits, and struggling to afford essential necessities. Rising costs, stagnant wages, and reckless policies are pushing families to the brink. Social Security and Medicare are under attack. Public schools are underfunded. Housing is unaffordable. Meanwhile, those in power REMAIN SILENT, allowing an unelected billionaire to create chaos and wield power over Mr. Barrett’s constituents and citizens across the nation. Elected officials work for the people. A public town hall is the bare minimum for true representation—not just for those with direct access to an office, but for everyone in the district. Barrett must schedule and publicly announce a town hall before returning to Washington to allow for meaningful engagement with his constituents. Clearing space on the calendar to listen to the very people who entrusted him to represent them should not be an afterthought—it is an obligation. The residents of Michigan’s 7th Congressional District are watching, waiting, and demanding to be heard.
