It's time to #PassPaidLeave for all!We ask that you prioritize a paid family and medical leave program in the United States, and that you publicly commit to its passage this Congress. It will save jobs, save lives, and make our families and our nation stronger. Thirty years ago Congress passed the Family and Medical Leave Act to ensure unpaid leave for workers in America. This was meant to be a first step. Today we ask you to commit to passing the country's first permanent paid leave program. It's way past time for the paid leave every working person and family deserves. Paid leave is also one of the most widely supported policies in this country. Two-thirds of small businesses want a national paid leave program to support their workers. Four in five American voters support it. In red states and blue, battlegrounds and beyond, supermajorities of voters want paid leave passed now. This is not a partisan issue. This is about family values.141 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Manasrah

Get The Grammy Awards to acknowledge Buck-TickBuck-Tick is a Japanese rock band, having the same line-up for over 35 years. There is a strong fanbase in and outside of their home country of Japan. Recently, vocalist Atsushi Sakurai passed away suddenly, leaving many fans distraught. The band deserves global recognition, and Mr. Sakurai should be acknowledged in the "In Memoriam" montage during the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony and TV broadcast. Let's make our voices heard to The Recording Academy!219 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Tabitha Davis

Breaking Chains: Reforming Juvenile IncarcerationWe spend nearly $415,000 a year per inmate in a youth prison in Maryland. We spend approximately $15,000 a year per student in a public school in Maryland. The stark contrast highlights the injustices of our system and we must urge the state to reallocate funds to schools to create preventive, treatment-based approaches and defund the school to prison pipeline.64 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alana Hines

Update the outdated BMI policy for Top SurgeryI write this petition to urge Denver Health and UCHealth to reconsider their outdated BMI limits. Fat trans people deserve gender affirming care and the science is behind us on this issue. Forcing someone to lose weight for gender affirming care when the research shows it’s not necessary for a safe procedure is not acceptable and puts trans peoples lives at risk as dysphoria is extremely distressing and can lead to suicidal ideation. Please take these things into consideration and stop using BMI to deny gender affirming top surgery!309 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Jude Novak

No one is above the lawDear Senate Leader Schumer and House Leader Johnson, I am writing today to ask you to champion a law that protects our community from any person (and that includes Presidents) that commits an insurrection or treasonous acts on our community, state, or nation. The recent ruling by a Colorado judge that found that former President Donald Trump incited insurrection, but can remain on the ballot, must be challenged, and I am asking for your help in writing and passing laws that prevent legal technicalities as was the case in Colorado. Judge Sarah B. Wallace, 2nd Judicial District Court judge, found that Trump incited an insurrection and could not use the “freedom of speech” argument to justify his actions, and that Secretaries of State could in fact could remove him from the ballot. However the judge used a legal technicality to allow Trump to remain on the ballot. As an elected official, I am asking you to defend the rule of law and our nation from anyone who commits treason or insurrection, by championing laws laws that protect our community from any person (and that includes Presidents) that commits an insurrection or treasonous acts on our community, state, or nation. I look forward to a response from you on how you will be addressing this issue. Sincerely,1,400 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Laurie Woodward Garcia

Netflix: Stop the corporate greed, stop raising prices, NOW!Netflix is raising prices on subscriptions again, despite continuous record profits. There is no reason that greedy corporations should pay less in taxes than working people, but, in 2021, Netflix paid a tax rate of only 1.1% on 5.3 BILLION dollars of profit, avoiding over $1 billion in taxes. Yet still, Netflix raised prices by 10.7% in January of 2022, and now they’re raising their prices again. Enough is enough. We must come together to stop this corporate greed. Will you sign the petition to demand that Netflix stop the price hikes, NOW?116,879 of 200,000 Signatures

Social Workers Against GenocideOur code of ethics 6.04 Social and Political Action states that social workers should act to prevent and eliminate domination of, exploitation of, and discrimination against any person, group, or class on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, political belief, religion, immigration status, or mental or physical disability. The charge set forth in the sixth section of the NASW Code of Ethics, "Social Workers’ Ethical Responsibilities to the Broader Society," is not limited to certain social workers practicing in certain contexts, such as advocacy, policy, government, or community organization. This charge applies to all social workers in all practice settings. Standard 6.04 (c–d) requires social workers to respect cultural and social diversity, and to work toward preventing and eliminating exploitation based on discrimination, whether in their locality or on the other side of the globe. We cannot take a neutral stance when a genocide is occurring in Gaza. We demand the National Association of Social Workers recognize their complicit nature during a genocide goes against our professions' code of ethics. In being complicit, our association is standing on the side of the oppressor and feeding into white supremist systems of oppression. We look to our association for guidance in such matters and at present they are failing us. We are asking NASW to challenge the propaganda that US and Israeli government officials are providing the world, and instead, relay information from people on the ground in Gaza that are experiencing this genocide firsthand. We are asking that NASW coordinates efforts and joins forces with other associations to provide resources such as food, water, clothing, etc. to the people in Gaza. We are asking NASW to use their lobbying resources and political advocacy to demand a ceasefire. We are asking NASW for a full statement denouncing the genocide of the Palestinian people.120 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Stop the Bombing

Investigate ExxonMobil Acquisition and Stop Big Oil From Getting Bigger!Last month, ExxonMobil announced plans to merge with Pioneer Natural Resources, which would make it the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the Permian Basin. The acquisition is also predicted to spark similar buyouts as gas and oil companies work to compete. What does that mean? It means Big Oil is about to get even bigger and more powerful, putting profits over mounting demands from the general public and scientists about climate change. We must act now! Tell Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan to investigate and stop Big Oil's dangerous expansion.401 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Aliya Khan

We need a REAL Supreme Court code of conductThe Supreme Court’s new “code of conduct” falls short of what we need. We demand REAL, enforceable ethics standards now. Congress must pass the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act and create the strongest possible code of conduct for our highest court.23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Common Cause
