Tell Donald Trump to CANCEL tomorrow's hateful, anti-immigrant speech

Tomorrow, Donald Trump will announce a sweeping border crackdown announcing the migrant caravan, using hateful and inflammatory language like the kind that led to multiple acts of violence last week. Tell Trump to CANCEL this speech. It's the last thing we need.

Why is this important?

Donald Trump likes to use inciting, incendiary language to target his political opponents. There are "criminals and unknown Middle Easterners mixed in" with an approaching migrant caravan, he tweeted, and they'd "better be stopped."

This kind of language has already led to horror. Last week, a fan of Donald Trump and Fox News sent out a series of pipe bombs targeting political and philanthropic leaders for assassination. The most vicious and lethal anti-Semitic hate crime in American history was carried out at a Pittsburgh synagogue, by a shooter ranting about the migrant caravan. Instead of bringing the country together, Donald Trump has responded by throwing a match on the kindling. Again.

Rather than tamping down on racial polarization and hate speech, Donald Trump is doubling down — pointing fingers, stoking fears, and inflaming passions. Tomorrow night, he will give a speech cracking down on the border and demagoguing against migrants seeking a safer place to live. There are already extremist groups talking about meeting the migrants on the border with guns and violence. This speech will push our country further toward the brink.

Please tell Donald Trump: CANCEL this speech.

A small group of refugees fleeing instability in Central America does not represent an existential threat to us, the strongest nation on earth. But forces of division, hatred, and violence might.
