This is What PGCC Thinks We're Worth

Colleagues,
The administration at PGCC has delivered what they’re calling their “last, best, final offer”: a measly 3.5% wage increase.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just a lowball — it’s an insult.
- It’s the lowest offer on the table from any Maryland community college.
- It fails to keep pace with inflation — meaning it’s essentially a pay cut.
- It ignores the skyrocketing cost of living around PGCC, where many faculty can’t even afford to live.
- It comes despite a known budget surplus at the college.
Meanwhile, we show up every day for our students, for this institution, and for the mission of accessible public education. This offer tells us exactly how little that work is valued by those in power.
But they don’t get to decide our worth — we do.
If you're fed up with being underpaid and undervalued, if you believe we deserve more than crumbs, then stand with your colleagues and demand a real wage increase.
Sign on. Speak up. Show them we won’t settle.
Our strength is in our solidarity — and they know it.
Why is this important?
Faculty at PGCC are the heart of the community they educate. We need to support them in the same way they support their students each and every day.
