To keep families together
Public Petition for Reform of Muscogee (Creek) Nation CFS
Title: The "Keep Our Families Together" Initiative: A Demand for Accountability, Truth, and Active Efforts
To: The Muscogee (Creek) National Council and the Office of the Principal Chief
I. THE MISSION
We, the undersigned citizens and concerned community members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, stand together to demand an immediate overhaul of the Children and Family Services (CFS) department. We believe that our families are our greatest sovereign resource, yet we are witnessing a system that too often relies on:
False Allegations & Half-Truths: The use of unverified or fabricated claims to remove children.
Weaponization of Poverty: Confusing a lack of resources with "neglect" and failing to provide the "Active Efforts" required by ICWA.
Prolonged Separation: Purposely drawing out court cases and stalling reunification to benefit the foster care system over the biological family.
II. OUR DEMANDS
Independent Oversight: The creation of an independent Tribal Ombudsman or Oversight Board to investigate claims of caseworker misconduct and perjury.
Active Efforts Audit: A mandatory review of all current cases to ensure CFS is providing actual, hands-on help rather than passive "reasonable efforts."
Transparency in Funding: A full public accounting of how foster care and adoption subsidies are utilized to ensure there is no financial incentive for removing children.
III. PROTECTION & PRIVACY CLAUSE
By signing this petition, we assert our right to petition our government for redress of grievances as protected by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Constitution and the Indian Civil Rights Act.
Non-Retaliation: We demand that participation in this petition shall not be used by CFS or the Courts as a basis for retaliation against any parent, guardian, or witness.
Confidentiality Option: Signers may choose to share their stories "For Legislative Review Only" to protect their active legal cases from being compromised.
Why is this important?
Keeping family's together is one of the most important things their is. Making sure family's know their rights and are treated fairly and justly should be mandatory for everyone . Irreversible harm is done to families every day and it needs to stop.
