I am writing in support of the proposed Broadway Land Use Framework developed by the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), the 46th, 47th, and 48th wards, the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, and Uptown United. There is a severe lack of affordable housing in Chicago, and the 46th, 47th, and 48th wards are overdue for improvements to land use and housing density.
Why is this important?
The proposed Land Use Framework would allow for more affordable housing, more transit-oriented development, and more ecologically sustainable development along the Broadway corridor from Devon to Montrose.
