18-year-old Triston Irvin killed by stepfather, George C. Floyd. Upgrade the charges!

In the morning of October 8, 2023, 18-year-old Triston Irvin was strangled by his stepfather, George C. Floyd. According to reports, Triston's mother, identified as Rachelle Floyd woke up at around 4:30 and found her husband's arm wrapped around Triston's neck for several minutes. George then instructed someone else who was also in the home at the time to sit on Triston's back even though George's arm was still wrapped around Triston's neck while his face was down to the floor. Once George finally released Triston, Triston was unresponsive. Several attempts were made to revive the teenager with water, ice and CPR before calling 911. Police said Triston was unresponsive for about 20-30 minutes before the call to 911 was made. George C. Floyd has been arrested and charged with felony first-degree assault and misdemeanor second-degree assault. Sadly, Triston passed away a few days later on October 13. Triston is remembered by classmates and team mates as being a funny kid who never got in trouble. Triston was a talented musician and a part of several ministries at his church. He had recently started attending Morgan State University after being awarded a full scholarship. During his short tenure at Morgan, he majored in Music Theory and had recently been cast in their upcoming play, "The Color Purple," where he was to play the role of Harpo. Triston has blessed so many people during his short stay on Earth and deserves justice. We are asking that Anthony "Tony" B. Covington, States Attorney for Charles County, MD upgrade George C. Floyd's charges from assault in the first-degree to murder in the first degree. Triston Irvin deserves Justice.

Why is this important?

Triston did not deserve to die. He has touched so many people during his short stay on this Earth. He had so much more work to do. This could have easily been your child, friend, or brother.
