To: SAISD Luther Burbank's Principal Ms. Talamantes

Bring Back Our Luther Burbank High School Teacher Mr. Luke Amphlet

This campaign has ended.

We want Luther Burbank's principal, as well as SAISD, to reinstate Luke Amphlett back into the Burbank community for wrongfully reprimanding him, as he was kept from his rights as a teacher and staff member at the school.

Why is this important?

Luther Burbank's principal and District have violated one of the most important and widely know rights that our country bases its foundation on. The first Amendment of the United States constitution was created to protect the rights of U.S. citizens. This includes "Freedom of Speech".

The letter that Mr. Amphlett wrote shows no evidence of impertinence towards administration, he was merely voicing concerns that have not been adequately addressed.

Mr. Amphlett stated "As educators, our primary responsibility is to preserve and act in defense of human life. We assert that the Burbank reopening plans, as presented on 8/27, are not adequate to the task that confronts us."

We are asking for your help, bring back the teacher that so bravely stood up and voiced the concerns of many around him, so that our administration, our teachers, our parents and more importantly our children stay safe during this pandemic.

For anyone who hasn't been informed, this campaign has ended. However this time it was with a happy beginning. Mr. Amphlett was reinstated to his job just after a couple of days of being on administrative leave. Many people are on leave for weeks and sometimes months, but with the power of our community, we fought hard and it shows. Mr. Amphlett sends his thanks to everyone that has helped. As I said, a happy beginning, because we aren't done yet. This is just the beginning, and now we have tasted justice and are hungry for more!
