I know things are crazy with the government shutdown and everyone is busy trying to figure out how to solve the issues. Hopefully the midterms will bring in some good allies to help.
I was comparing the 2025 presidential administration to the colonists Declaration of Independence and found some alarming similarities. The Trump administration has checked off all the grievances the colonists had with George the III, the similarities are frightening. As we at least have representatives and freedom of speech, unlike the colonists, I am attempting my due diligence to reach out for support and hopefully find some allies to help us get our democracy back from tyranny. Please share this with other people who share our love for democracy.
We must have accountability and oversight to keep our checks and balances. Congress, along with all other elected officials and the military, swore an oath to protect and defend the constitution. This petition is a reminder of that oath.

Why is this important?
Every citizen of the United States should sign this petition. This petition is a reminder to our elected leaders to uphold their oaths of office and not play political games with the American People. The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the land, everyone should read it. This document is the foundation of the United States Government, it literally defines the government, it's powers and duties. Checks and balances between the branches of government are extremely important, they protect the integrity of our nation. Without these checks the nation goes into a constitutional crisis, which is extremely dangerous to our freedoms and democracy. The founders who wrote the United States Constitution trusted the branches to uphold and defend the Supreme law of the Land, that is why they all are required to take the oath of office:
President of the United States oath "... protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"
All other elected/appointed to an offices oath "...I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..."
