Fire Jesse Watters From Fox for Promoting Hate and Violence Against Women
Jesse Watters needs to be fired from his position at Fox News for numerous ethical violations, including racism and sexism, and for using language that promotes hate and / or sexual violence against women, including Kamala Harris.
Why is this important?
Jesse Watters has a long history of sexism and racism. On August 27, 2024 Watters said on Fox News about US Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris that "We don’t know who she is. We don’t know what she believes. She’s going to get paralyzed in the Situation Room while the generals have their way with her" (Wikipedia).
In April 2017, two days after joining The Five as co-host, Watters made an on-air comment about Ivanka Trump that was criticized as lewd. After viewing footage of Trump speaking on a panel about female entrepreneurship, Watters commented, "So I don't really get what's going on here, but I really liked how she was speaking into that microphone," as he parodied holding the microphone as a phallic symbol.
These are only a few examples of the disrespect, misogyny, and violence towards women, that Watters normalizes every day in our culture. Though Fox is by no means the paragon of ethical responsibility, Watters recent reckless and sensationalized rhetoric involving Kamala Harris must be faced with serious consequences, especially in this cultural environment in which women are loosing their autonomy and their safety.
