Dear Mr. President,

We respectfully seek your compassion and consideration for Edwin Pawlowski, the former Mayor of Allentown, Pennsylvania, who is currently serving a 15-year sentence for charges related to corruption. As he has completed six years of his sentence, we implore you to consider commuting the remainder of his time.

Ed Pawlowski has faced significant consequences for his actions and has already paid a steep price. He has lost his career, his financial stability, and his reputation, yet he has maintained his dignity throughout this ordeal. The federal prosecutor in his case even offered a plea deal of 5 years, which acknowledges that Mr. Pawlowski has suffered enough and that he has taken responsibility for his actions.

During his time in prison, Ed has been a model inmate, demonstrating good behavior and a commitment to rehabilitation. Additionally, he has been battling serious health issues that pose a constant threat to his well-being. It is our belief that he has shown remorse and a desire to make amends for his past mistakes.

Mr. President, we kindly ask you to consider the potential for redemption and the opportunity for Ed Pawlowski to contribute positively to society once again. Commuting his sentence would not only allow him to reclaim valuable years of his life but also enable him to share his experiences and insights, potentially helping others avoid the pitfalls he encountered.

We trust that you will weigh this request with the compassion and understanding that you have shown throughout your presidency. Thank you for taking the time to consider this appeal for clemency on behalf of Edwin Pawlowski.

Why is this important?

Ed Pawlowski has paid a significant price for the crimes he committed. The government offered Pawlowski a plea agreement that included five years incarceration.  Pawlowski has long served that sentence and is now paying the trial penalty.
