Petition to Revert PTO Policy Changes at Polaris Pharmacy Services

Under U.S. law, specifically the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), employees have the right to discuss and organize around workplace issues, including policies like PTO. This protection extends even to non-unionized employees. Retaliating against employees for participating in such activities, including signing a petition, is prohibited.

We, the employees of Polaris Pharmacy Services, are petitioning to express our collective concerns regarding the recent changes to the PTO policy. While the announcement framed these changes as beneficial, we believe they significantly reduce flexibility and negatively impact work-life balance.

Our key concerns include:

  1. Reduction in PTO Hours: The new policy reduces our PTO from 23 days to 10, which we view as a significant loss of a valued benefit.
  2. Mandatory PTO Usage on Holidays: Requiring PTO for holidays restricts our ability to manage time off based on personal needs and preferences.
  3. Unused Sick Days: Employees are encouraged to call in sick unnecessarily, versus the previous PTO system where sick calls were not encouraged. This will lead to staffing challenges. Unused sick days = lost PTO

By signing this petition, we affirm our shared concerns and request your serious consideration of this matter.

Why is this important?

We joined Polaris Pharmacy Services with the understanding that the previous PTO policy was a standout benefit that reflected the company's commitment to employee well-being. These changes contradict that expectation and have created frustration among employees.

We respectfully request that Polaris Pharmacy Services revert to the previous PTO policy, with 23 days of flexible PTO, to better support employee satisfaction and uphold the company’s commitment to fostering a positive work-life balance.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to the voices of your employees. We hope to engage in constructive dialogue to resolve this matter.

Sincerely,
The Employees of Polaris Pharmacy Services

HR has distributed a FAQ document intended to clarify the PTO policy, but unfortunately, it has raised more concerns and appears to exacerbate the confusion.
