PS 287 and neighboring schools have been haunted by the loss of a small child. The schools are located near commercial traffic in Downtown Brooklyn.
Traffic is often heavy and moving rapidly. The schools need speed bumps in place to slow down traffic. A few signs would be beneficial also such as "School Zone". We can't afford another tragic loss before taking action.
Why is this important?
We need to ensure safety of all community members. We also want to prevent another tragedy involving small children. We are to protect them and advocate for the little voices who need to be heard.
