Remove “Have you been convicted of a felony “ question from applications

Let’s come together and have that unnecessary question removed from all applications. Have you ever been convicted of or committed a felony? should be removed from all applications. The ultimate accomplishment in life is to achieve something close to being the president of the United States. All each American can try to do is live up to the standards that our president set forth for us as patriotic citizens. Our sitting president has 34 felonies. If the president can have 34 felonies, we should be able to have that question removed from applications. The majority of us are not trying to apply to be the president, we just want normal every day jobs that help keep this country going. Lot of us can’t get these jobs because we made a poor decision or a mistake in the past and we’ve paid our debt and we’re just trying to take care of our families. This petition is to have the question of your felony status removed from applications. It is not dictating. What company should do with their background checks or their hiring process, it is just asking for that question to be removed. All companies are going to do their own background check and will move forward in their hiring process the way they see fit like they always have, but that question should be removed from the application process.

Why is this important?

We as Americans are just trying to live our lives to the best potential that we’re able to do. If our president can walk around a free man and leader of the free world, then we should be able to get a job at McDonald’s or Walmart even though we may have one or two felonies. Our president has been convicted of 34. The American people would just like the playing field evened out a bit, that’s all.
