The overwhelming support for our cause changed the parks departments decision to close the fire pit. Cheers to great neighbors and great neighborhoods.

Why is this important?

Laurelhurst Fire Pit has been a central gathering place for generations of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Y-Guides, Man Fires, Snow days, or just a quiet family campfires. One of the few remaining campfire spots in Seattle it is in danger of being bulldozed due to the complaints of a few. We need to show The Seattle Parks Department we care about our community and how this adds to the uniqueness of our beloved Laurelhurst park and community.
