Please help us save the oak trees on Rockledge Dr. Rockledge FL

Please help us save the oak trees on Rockledge Dr. Rockledge FL

Stop the county's pursuit of cutting down the live oak trees on Rockledge Dr. Please use our tax dollars and direct county's time to solve issues and problems like the flooding issues on Rockledge Dr, a sewer line in to protect the Indian River Lagoon and so many other serious issues rather than focusing on decimating one of Brevard's most beautiful oak lined roads.

Why is this important?

These live mature oaks support the Space Coast Marathon, runners, bikers, walkers, and has provided shade that lower energy costs. They have provided beauty along the Indian River Lagoon for hundreds of years without any issues to those who have visited. The leaves of an oak tree absorb airborne pollutants. One tree can absorb up to 10 lbs. of air pollution in a single year. The stabilize the soil preventing erosion. We wish for them to remain standing for future generations to enjoy. Thank you so very much.

How it will be delivered

Moving on, Email, phone, FB, printed version to county

Reasons for signing

  • The street is been a part of my childhood and my whole life it’s beautiful and it will definitely be a waste of tax dollars to cut it down.
  • Very hard for me to rationalize ANY reason to cut down any live oak anywhere for any reason...
  • Seems unnecessary. Maintain them, but don’t cut them down!

These 200-300 year old legacy trees clean our air, reducing ground temperatures, protecting our Indian River Lagoon & it's habitat, providing shelter & food to wildlife, plants & insects. These trees protect our shoreline from erosion & the river from run offs. They protect our homes & families from Hurricane force winds. Please share this petition with as many people as you can beginning today to get more signatures.
