  • Support Rhinebeck Town Board’s Actions to Protect our Community
We, the undersigned, support the Rhinebeck Town Board’s legal action against illegal zoning practices in Hyde Park and Clinton to unfairly enable development of a massive proposed Six Senses luxury resort on sensitive land where Hyde Park, Clinton, and Rhinebeck meet. The proposed Six Senses resort targets protected Greenbelt and low-density residential and agricultural zones, threatening irreplaceable farmland, vital wetlands, clean water, historic sites, endangered species, and our region’s character . Notably, zoning boards in Hyde Park and Clinton had previously DENIED this project. This lawsuit protects the rule of law, our environment, and community character.  Upholding the Rule of Law: We support Rhinebeck’s action to ensure neighboring towns follow lawful zoning practices on Rhinebeck’s borders. The lawsuit against Hyde Park and Clinton officials exposes illegal backdoor maneuvers to pass a questionable new law and a private settlement to override lawful zoning denials, benefiting the developer, IHG. We must insist that neighboring towns uphold their zoning laws to prevent negative impacts to Rhinebeck residents such as increased traffic and environmental destruction Elected to Lead: We agree that town officials have broad discretion to protect residents from unlawful large-scale development, and we stand by the Rhinebeck Town Board for taking a principled stand. We understand that attorney-client privilege requires certain matters be discussed in private. Open Dialogue is a Rhinebeck Tradition: Rhinebeck’s commitment to open meetings ensures continuous public input on any matter. We acknowledge that NOBODY has been denied a voice and that ALL are permitted to speak at any public town board meeting. • Protect Mifepristone!
Republicans are using fear-mongering and misinformation to spread their anti-abortion agenda.  RFK Jr. announced that he directed the FDA to do a full review on guidelines to the abortion pill Mifepristone. This is after a right-wing think tank released a bogus report spreading misinformation about Mifepristone. We need to demand that Congress protect mifepristone and stop the dangerous spread of misinformation.

  • Tell Congress: BLOCK Trump’s $400 million bribe!
Members of congress must use their authority to block Trump from accepting the $400 million luxury plane Qatar is gifting to him. This isn't an innocent gift, it's a bribe from a country that wants favorable treatment. The Constitution’s Emoluments Clause forbids presidents from accepting these sorts of "gifts" for obvious reasons. Congress must REJECT this shady plane deal and hold this administration accountable to working for We The People—not the highest bidder.

  • SAVE CHILD CARE by saying NO to Greedy Billionaires!
Decimating child care, preschool, early intervention, and Head Start budgets to fund tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations only spells disaster for American families. Child care has long been unaffordable and unattainable for families, and new data just released from the Department of Labor shows that child care costs more than the median yearly cost of rent. According to recent studies, child care challenges cost the United States economy an estimated $122 billion a year. Supporting investments in high-quality child care and early learning programs can help offset this loss, generating up to $7.30 for every dollar invested We are counting on you to protect the needs of our nation’s families and kids. Cutting early education and child care funding in order to provide more tax cuts to the wealthy is harmful and unconscionable. Instead, our elected leaders should be supporting legislation that invests in our children’s future. We are asking you to reject cuts to early learning and choose families over billionaires.

  • Make Edgar Middle School safe and welcoming for our children
On the first day of school in September of 2024, our children were threatened with police involvement for anything from name calling to a slap on the butt. Middle schoolers absolutely need structure and discipline, but treating them like criminals from the start is no way to build an environment of trust and respect. That attitude persists. The children are punished for the smallest of infractions. They are assumed guilty and not given the opportunity to prove innocence. They are locked out of lunch for arriving late, after being restricted from accessing the most direct route to the cafeteria. They have recess taken away as a punishment, despite NJ state law requiring it for all children in grades K-5. They are not permitted to eat during lunch period if children are loud or out of their seats. I could go on and on. I know many of you have met with administration, and some with the superintendent, only to be lip serviced or blown off altogether. These people are paid by us to provide a service for us and there is nothing wrong with asking questions and challenging things that don’t sit well with the community. I am hoping to take these signatures to the board of education and ask for the following: 1. Disciplinary statistics for the past 5 years, since this administration took over. To include month to month, year to year and how Edgar compares to the other schools in our district. 2. Detailed information for the fall of 2024 “parent survey.” Mrs. Acevedo shared a very short summary in the 12/16 bulldog briefs, where she also promised additional information which has to date not been shared. 3. Results of the NJ School Climate Survey which we took in March of this year. I’m hoping that this information will allow us to create a dialog around what is going well, what is not going well, and what can be done to bridge that gap.

  • Tell Mayor Bowser: Stop Trump's War Parade
Washington, DC — and none of us — can afford a celebration of weapons and war like the birthday party the Trump administration reportedly has in mind. Mayor Bowser must prevent President Trump from holding a dangerous war parade in our nation's capital.

  • Tell the Trump Admin: Stop Attacking Free Speech and Our Universities!
Free speech and intellectual freedom are essential to a healthy democracy. Colleges and universities are where people come to explore ideas, ask tough questions, and challenge the status quo. But these freedoms are under threat. The Trump administration is targeting schools because he wants to silence students and professors and force them to march in lockstep with his hateful agenda. We demand an immediate end to any and all attacks on the free speech of U.S. universities. Students and faculty must be safe to think, question, and speak freely without fear of government retribution.

  • We stand with our associates!
An incident occurred a few weeks ago that resulted in what we believe to be wrongful termination of two of Greene County Elementary School’s amazing associates.  We stand with both Jessica Goughnour and Chelsi Lawrence and encourage the Greene County School Board to reconsider and reinstate them both as they are both major assets to the school, the staff and the students.  Please sign your name in support and please feel free to leave a message or write a letter addressed to the board.

  • Fire Prevention in Stockton, NJ
This petition calls for the use of local and state funds to support proactive forest fire prevention efforts in the Stockton area. With increasing risks due to changing climate conditions, it is essential that we take action to protect our community and surrounding natural areas. We are requesting funding for preventive measures such as brush clearing, controlled burns, and the creation of firebreaks. Additionally, we seek the installation of clear signage, community education initiatives, and broader prevention tactics to raise awareness and reduce fire risk. Your support can help keep Stockton safe and resilient. We would like to get a Smokey the Bear “high chance of fire” sign put in at the Bulls Island park, along with other signs in common areas along Daniel Bray Highway and near the boat launches.
