Currently in New York State there is not a law preventing animal owners from leaving pets outside in extreme weather as long as there is shelter on the property. A dog house will not do much sheltering in such brutal cold.

Over the last several years, the oil and rail industries have brought the growing threat of hazardous, flammable oil trains into the Main Streets and downtowns of millions of Americans. The Department of Transportation’s new draft safety rules on the rail transport of hazardous materials must be strong, enforceable, and protect all Americans.

Pass and ratify the "We the People Amendment" to the US Constitution which was introduced into the US House of Representatives in February 2013. It states that: 1. Constitutional rights are only for natural persons (not corporations, unions or any organizations). 2. Money is property not speech and can be regulated when attempting to affect elections. This Amendment addresses the undue influence that the extremely wealthy and large corporations have over our government.

Please help put a stop to the undeserved raises in the UC System and help keep tuition costs low. Education should be available to all.

The speed limit on Rittenhouse Street in Germantown is 25 MPH, people drive an average of 45 to 50 MPH. There are 4 churches and 2 daycare facilities within the 3 blocks from Germantown Avenue to Greene Street. There is no stop sign, speed bump or retribution for the hundreds of daily speeders. This is a residential area, we want to feel safe on our streets. Please help us to get a speed bump and a stop sign before someone really gets hurt.

Investment bankers on Wall Street should pay the same percentage of their income into Social Security as nurses, teachers, and the rest of us. Doing so would shore up Social Security’s finances while making our tax system fairer. This petition is to force all commercial airlines to have a designated amount of removable seats to accommodate disabled passengers unable to move from their wheelchair to a regular seat.
