On December 12, civil rights leader Dolores Huerta and other local leaders will be fasting for 24 hours at Representative Kevin McCarthy's Bakersfield office. This fast continues the Fast for Families initiated in Washington D.C. by labor leader Eliseo Medina, who fasted for 22 days across from the U.S. Capitol with others for immigration reform.

STOP ILLEGAL GUNS FROM CONTROLLING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS & KILLING OUR CHILDREN.

Very few students over the age of 22 are supported by their parents, yet they still have to claim their parents income for financial aid purposes. For example, a student like myself that is fully financially independent, who pays their own rent and works for their tuition payments still has to claim their parents income even if they aren't able to support their child's journey through college. The middle class is being targeted-- my parents make too much for me to get financial aid but not enough to help me pay my tuition payments, forcing me to take out massive student loans to stay afloat.

The ticket companies, specifically DaMai （大麦网), should pose CAPTCHA ("Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Humans and Computers Apart") in all of their ticket-selling platforms in order to prevent ticket scalpers from acquiring an exceptional amount of tickets via an illegal and immoral way of using bots. To keep Social Security viable for centuries, demand that our politicians save Social Security by ending the earnings cap on ALL income (both earned and unearned) and increase the tax on earnings by 1% on earnings under $120,000, and by an additional 15% on income over $120,000, to make up for money they have not put into the system. Demand that chained CPI not be on the table and that CPI actually reflect those things that seniors actually use, like healthcare, transportation, medicines, nursing homes, and insurance. Our seniors and the disabled deserve to live to the end of their lives with dignity and to not be impoverished by the actions of our politicians.
