Reverse the unprecedented step which your Department of Agriculture took toward reducing farm worker wages. For over 100 years USDA has consistently used the Farm Labor Survey (FLS) to collect data about farm labor and wages. The FLS produces essential data needed to determine the federal Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) for H2A workers which is necessary to avoid undercutting the wages of domestic farm workers. The AEWR rate is higher than the minimum wage in all 50 states -- often significantly. Without this information, the wages of all domestic farm workers will be adversely impacted. I stand with the UFW and the UFW Foundation in the legal action they have taken against your unprecedented and unilateral move.

Millions of Texans are freezing right now and where are our "leaders?" Texas Governor Greg Abbott is on Fox News telling lies about wind turbines and the Green New Deal, rather than helping people, and Senator Ted Cruz is vacationing in Cancun.  Abbot and Cruz have failed to protect us from the climate crisis, promoting a deadly fossil fuel economy. They failed to ensure we were prepared for an extreme weather event like this. And now they're failing to protect us in our moment of need. It is time for Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz to resign.

Constitutional Promises, Institutional Failures A Request to Congress to Honor the Founding Edicts of our Great Nation General Welfare: The concern of the government for the health, peace, morality, and safety of its citizens. There comes a time in the course of human events when We, The American Public, must stand up and demand that our branches of Government represent us. The People are angry and the time for action is now. To start, I want to personally thank Senator Bernie Sanders for his part in constructing most of the bills that you will see here. The Constitution states that the Federal Government shall provide for the general welfare of all Americans.* It does not state that a handful of people, donors, or any other minority of the wealthy be the only voice of our democratic republic. The Constitution also says nothing of political parties in its edicts; It only references Representatives in the articles. Therefore, partisan politics which keep the Government from providing for the general welfare of The People, must cease. Below are the demands of the vast majority of all Americans. We the People are no longer going to stand for taxation without representation, and we are demanding that our Government represent us. We demand that the Senate and House of Representatives bundle the bills provided (while keeping the bill’s based subjects divided as we have**) and pass them. We will be watching to see who steps up and who opposes the will of the American People. We will inform all of the public about who is not doing their job, who is not representing them. We will assemble in Washington, DC to let you know how upset we are about this. The average of polls*** shows that each bill has majority, supermajority, or greater support with The American People. This level of support includes Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and Others. These bills, which provide for the general welfare (good of all Americans), were already introduced into the Senate, but were never passed. We the People will no longer stand for partisan politics and/or the influence of lobbyists and campaign donors, which have kept Congress from accepting, passing, and sending these bills to the President for his signature. Congress is failing its fundamental constitutional duty to represent the will of the people. I’m offended by the constant lies and demagoguery they pump out on a daily basis. FOX News has been the main driver of disinformation and misinformation in America as it relates to the 2020 election and Donald Trump’s Big Lie; to the ongoing pandemic; the deterioration of political civility; and a sharp rise in anti-democratic/anti-democracy, nationalism and authoritarianism. Yet they’ve never been held accountable. In the post-Trump era, they’re seemingly thriving. We need to look no further than seeing Fox News's Tucker Carlson and his praise of Vladimir Putin and his war in Ukraine or the jarring contrast between giving credence to Donald Trump’s antics after the 2020 election and privately calling them lies. Clearly those who want to watch it can, that’s their prerogative, but I don’t want to pay for it. Can those of us who see what FOX has been doing come together and through a threat to cancel our cable subscriptions demand that they stop including FOX in all basic cable options when they renegotiate their contracts, in order to opt for another source of access to the networks we want to support.

The TV networks are providing Donald Trump a disproportionate amount of free air time—an outrageous 81 minutes on ABC World News Tonight, for example, compared with just 20 seconds for Bernie Sanders this entire year. Trump has received more network coverage than all of the Democratic candidates combined. This lopsided coverage gives Trump a significant, unfair advantage and helps spread his bigoted, un-American rhetoric.
