Mainstream media must report the News that affects us directly, so we can make informed decisions about our lives! We need to know what politicians, mostly in Congress, are doing to earn our tax dollars, because their decisions impact our every day lives, & we're not getting the truth from them! (Ex: the House GOP voted in July to keep their health care we pay for, after they voted for the 31st time to repeal Obamacare for us. Sen. GOP, recently, voted against jobs bill for Vets & other Americans!)

The New York State constitution made a promise to care for those who cannot care for themselves. For New Yorkers with developmental disabilities that promise was affirmed in the Willowbrook Consent Decree signed by Governor Hugh Carey in 1975, requiring the State to move people with disabilities from institutions into appropriate community settings. Ongoing budget problems leave us in danger of breaking our promise to care for New Yorkers who need our help. New York is better than that. We’re asking Governor Andrew Cuomo not to propose or support further cuts in our ability to keep New York’s promise. Budget cuts to supports and services affect real people – real New Yorkers – including people with developmental disabilities and those who provide their supports and services. Please tell the Governor to KEEP THE PROMISE TO THE MOST VULNERABLE NEW YORKERS!

The rise of Fox News and others has created a hateful,misinformed electorate which has a major negative effect on all of the country.We need to have news reported truthfully with consequences for distorting or lying.This is not a freedom of speech issue.Reporting the news should be factual and not based on opinion or partisanship.
