We, the Sunset Park community, strongly urge the Department of City Planning and City Council of New York (the “City”) to preserve our neighborhood's working waterfront and implement strategies to foster climate resilience. The industrial heritage of this waterfront has long served our working class community as a central employment hub, and the preservation and expansion of such land uses are essential to our economic welfare. We are acutely aware of the disastrous effects that re-zonings have had on similar communities in New York City, particularly with regards to gentrification, displacement, and cultural destruction. This must not be allowed to happen in Sunset Park. We must strengthen our community’s working waterfront's unique industrial core within a twenty-first century framework of climate resilience in such a way that allows Sunset Park to retain its rich cultural history and legacy of community cohesiveness. It is with this understanding that the Sunset Park community petitions the City to take all rezoning considerations off the table for our working waterfront. Thank you

Geraldo Rivera and the Fox News Channel, the comments you have made on your show/program imply that young people of color are essentially responsible for their own deaths with regard to cases of racial profiling and gun violence, especially in circumstances in which they are wearing hoodies or "thug-like" clothing. Furthermore, you have implied that black people are more concerned about the deaths of members of our community when they involve a white killer than when the killer is black. To make the opposing case in an open and independent forum, @MillionHoodies challenges you to a one-hour debate on the issues surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin and the challenges facing African-American communities. If we win, you owe the entire African-American community and the millennial generation an apology on your show.

We propose that both local and state governments of New York build more protected and separated bicycle paths in the city in order to keep both cyclists and motorists safer.

Reopen beauty salons in New Mexico. We will only have only 10 people at a time in the salon including staff members. If a staff member is not busy that person will not be allowed to stay in the salon. They must have a client in their chair. Every staff person will wear a mask. Gloves will be worn when needed, especially while washing customers hair, during pedicures and manicures, facials, and waxing services.

Empower the FCC to demand that news be news, and not propaganda. Charge the FCC to actually rule the airwaves and distinguish propaganda from news. Make it a law that statements made as facts be fact-checked and referenced by a minimum of two independent sources. We don't want to limit free speech. we just want opinion labeled as such. We want facts labeled as such. If a news organization is reporting what someone says, they have an obligation to state if there is any evidence of fact to the statement.
