Citizens Bank is bankrolling the country’s two largest prison companies that are earning record profits operating dozens of ICE detention facilities. While most major banks have cut ties with CoreCivic and The GEO Group, Citizens Bank is deepening its financial support for these companies, which are already holding more than half of the 70,000 immigrants currently in ICE detention centers across the country. The bank’s capital is supporting a deplorable ICE agenda that aims to fill detention centers with more than 100,000 people by next year. Even as it publicly touts its commitment to “strengthening our communities,” Citizens Bank has played a key role in helping The GEO Group and CoreCivic access more than $2.5 billion in financing, some of it approved earlier this year. This comes as the companies face a mountain of allegations, including forced labor and wrongful deaths due to understaffing and medical neglect at their facilities. The violent mass detention, deportation, and surveillance of immigrant communities are a stain on our country’s history, and no company should profit by inflicting human misery. The GEO Group, CoreCivic, and the banks that finance them are all complicit. We demand that Citizens Bank cut ties with CoreCivic and The GEO Group. 

Legalization of marijuana for medical use in the state of Missouri

The Affordable Care Act has been gradually improving the health insurance market since 2010, but too many news outlets are letting a faulty website cast shame on comprehensive health care reform. Please give coverage of the ACA that's truly fair and balanced.

As of July 1st, 2020, over 2.72 million cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the United States, which account for about a quarter of cases globally. With new cases at an all time high, further measures need to be taken both statewide and federally in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 to prevent even more loss of life. Currently, only 18 states are requiring individuals to wear face masks while out in public (Kim et al., 2020). The bare minimum that needs to be done nationwide is for Congress to draft a bill that mandates ALL Americans aged 2 and over (with the exception of those that cannot due to medical conditions) to wear face masks while in public spaces to limit the spread of the virus.

We urge the Democratic National Committee to end the system of appointing "Super Delegates" for all future presidential elections. The super delegate system is unrepresentative, contradicts the purported values of the party and its members, and reduces the party's moral authority.

We wish you to hear our plausible compromise that should be an acceptable alternative while allowing the American flag to be proudly flown on a year round basis.We strongly urge the St. Augustine City Commissioners to rescind their previous position restricting the display of our American flag, the symbol of all Americans and our 1.6 million Veterans in the great state of Florida and allow the American flag to be proudly flown on the Bridge of Lions.

Preexisting condition clauses should be disallowed in health insurance policies, effective immediately. Restrictions to form health policy groups should be disallowed. Individuals should be allowed to get the same discounts and coverage as do corporations in the State of California by forming a group for the purposes of health insurance.
