Real Thoughtful Change at DartmouthWe believe that Dartmouth is not perfect, but we also love all that is good about The College on a Hill. We believe that Dartmouth needs real reform in order to improve and continue to excel at undergraduate education. Dialogue on campus reform has been dominated by a small group and has led to a hasty campaign for vaguely defined change at all costs. We do not support the methods or lack of discussion encapsulated by their efforts. At the same time, we condemn all violence either committed in the heat of a protest or hidden behind the veil of anonymity. Everyone who has violated the Dartmouth Community Standards of Conduct should go through the established process for those violations. We would like Dartmouth to change for the better - which requires true dialogue with listening on both sides, careful consideration and prolonged thought. We promise as students, faculty, alumni and staff to join in this discussion so that the administration can truly hear all opinions and proceed with good, thoughtful reforms to address sexual assault, binge drinking, and many other problems endemic to the higher education system in America.160 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Thomas Harrington

Stop Roundup NowThe United States has elected to start looking into Roundup and its harmful affects on food, air, and water (and us). They will not have answer until 2015. In the meantime, we are continuing to eat food that is causing cancer and infertility and many many other illnesses. Our children deserve better, we deserve better.36 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Lawhon

Off-Duty Officer hit & ran my son and still has a job.Videos confirm that officer Micheal Miller of Winston, Oregon had hit my son on Dec 24th, 2010 at Myrtle Creek Store. He hit him at about 45 miles an hour and then turned around and got out of truck to inspect him. Kicked him and left him for dead. Nobody will help prosecute this man. Nobody is holding him responsible for his actions as an civil servant to protect. Please help me hold him accountable as my son is too afraid of the police here. They hassle and arrest him whenever they can. He has suffered enough and deserves justice.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alice Coppers

Reject the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP)We urge the Senate to reject the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement because it supplants US sovereignty and control with corporate and foreign control. CHIEF OF SLAVE THEATER ARRESTEDHardy’s arrest is an outrage! The day of the inspection, there was a first initial visit by the NYPD, but after receiving proper identification from the engineer there was no action taken and the inspection was allowed to continue. About an hour later, 8-10 police officers arrived while the building was being secured. At that time Mr. Hardy was placed under arrest outside the building. After being held at the precinct for a length of time, Mr. Hardy requested to be transported to Woodhull hospital, as he did not have his medication made available to him after the arrest and was concerned he would not receive it while in custody. The elderly Hardy was taken to the hospital strapped down and in hand and ankle cuffs and returned to the precinct hours later in the same manner, minus the body straps. Hardy was then taken to central booking where he was not arraigned until 1:00am on Monday morning. The Slave Theater has been an open door for many community based organizations and the people of Bedford Stuyvesant for many years and Clarence Hardy has been a key individual in allowing these people to use The Slave as a platform to give valuable information to the community. Despite many obstacles and struggle for legal recognition, he has been the biggest advocate in maintaining the space as a cultural resource center. The disgraceful arrest and misconduct of the 79th precinct is a blatant tactic to rob the community of this resource and it is necessary that this arrest be looked into. No matter how much intimidation and harassment, Clarence Hardy and his supporters will continue to fight for this cultural gem. All supporters of The Slave Theater will not give up and will not give in.62 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bedstuy Community

Dartmouth College: Petition for ChangeWe, the undersigned students and graduates of Dartmouth, faculty, parents and community members: Express our unqualified support for the recent protests at the show for prospective students. These protests against sexual violence as well as racism, homophobia, and other forms of prejudice have captured everyone's attention. In spite of predictable backlash, the student protesters courageously took the measures necessary to bring their concerns to light. The subsequent threats of death and rape that they received illustrate the truth of their claims. They now suffer through fear, social isolation, and demands that they be punished. We applaud the administration's decision to cancel classes in order to address the threatened violence against students, and we oppose any and all demands of punishment for the protesters. In considering the aftermath of this incident, we must not lose sight of their actual message. Their concerns are the realities of Dartmouth student life. We too have witnessed and experienced them in our own time at the College. We are saddened, but not surprised, by recent events. Significant reforms are needed to change the nature of social life at Dartmouth. The protesters' values are our values, and their demands are our demands.689 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Nathan Gusdorf
