We as students are risking our health to attend WWU, in response WWU has raised the cost of housing and expects us to pay for days in which we won't be on campus. We're petitioning to have WWU either decrease the initial cost of housing for Fall 2020, or to provide reimbursement for students who won't be coming back following Thanksgiving break.

As a society, we have the legal right to understand that when we enter a court of law, that the judge hearing cases concerning any form of domestic violence, all forms of abuse, including sexual, mental, emotional, and psychological, have been mandated by the Judicial Board to make decisions concerning minor children and victims. There are currently 24 judges in the United States that are mandated by the judicial board to take training on the physical side of domestic violence, leaving zero judges being mandated to take training on emotional, mental, and psychological abuse, including sexual assault, rape, and sexual rape on minor children and adult victims. This has got to change! Because judges are not being mandated in such training above, judges are not able to make correct decisions concerning placing a minor child with the abuser and protect adult victims. Most adult victims enter a court only to be abused by the court system that is supposed to be there to protect victims and innocent children. It is past time the Judicial Board mandate all judges be trained in all forms of domestic violence, including sexual assault to minor children and adult victims, so judges are not forcing minor children and adult victims to continually be abused by their abuser. A mandated Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) must be given to abusers, along with no contact orders, to help innocent children and victims remain safe at all times, and lower the death rate of innocent children and adult victims.

Congress must use its power to prevent big oil companies from increasing prices for us at the pump while they rake in record profits. But instead, Republicans are covering for Big Oil by supporting Putin and using his war to distract from their profiteering. While we work toward more renewable energies, gas remains essential for people across the country

End the transportation and export of fossil fuels, materials, and drilling equipment on Washington state rails and roads. Build a clean and sustainable energy grid for the 21st century. Make Washington state a world leader in sustainable energy grid development for the generations to come. It's time for Washington state to truly become "the Evergreen State."

On January 24, 2012, The Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 535, a non-binding resolution declaring 2012 "The Year of the Bible." The resolution states that we have a "national need to study and apply the holy scriptures," a position which clearly favors Christianity over other religions and violates the separation of church and state as protected by the Constitution of the United States. As a Pennsylvanian, I wish to make clear that I do NOT support the Bible as the preferred state religious text, and I oppose the passage of a state resolution that formally declares the Bible as the word of God and asserts that strengthening of our nation occurs by "renewing our knowledge of and faith in God through holy scripture." H.R. 535 is not only unconstitutional, it ignores and devalues the great diversity of peoples and religions which actually constitute the state of Pennsylvania. This resolution, even though it is non-binding, sends a message to citizens that Christian beliefs are more legitimate in the eyes of the state than other belief systems. This message is especially dangerous in our current climate of anti-Islamic rhetoric and strengthened federal powers of detention. H.R. 535 positions the state to take future action limiting freedom of religious expression and persecuting those who disagree with state-approved religion. I urge Pennsylvania's House of Representatives to repeal H.R. 535.

If you can vote at age of 18, buy tobacco products at the age of 18, and serve in the United States Military at the age of 18, then you should be able to purchase alcohol legally.

I urge you to demand answers over the unauthorized military strike conducted in the Caribbean on September 2, and act now to avoid further military action threatening to drag us into another painful, endless war.
