Governor Hochul - I urge you to support S.4859/A.5682, the New York Tropical Deforestation-Free Procurement Act. New York is a climate leader and a business leader. This bill is good for the climate and it's good for business. An estimated 18 million acres of forest, an area half the size of New York State, is lost every year due to human activities. Tropical forests cover roughly seven percent of the Earth’s surface but harbor close to 50 percent of all species on Earth, and tropical deforestation is the third leading driver of global CO2 emissions. This bill will put New York State at the forefront of global efforts to end the crisis of deforestation in tropical regions by ensuring that entities contracting to provide goods or services to our state government do not drive deforestation through their supply chains.

Most recently a local potato farmer has shut down this year's operations due to new federal laws regarding homeland security and fencing in fields with 24 hour security guards. Please help in fighting these new federal guidelines so our local potato farmers can run their businesses.

The California DOC must take immediate action to restrict oil drilling within 3,200 feet of homes, hospitals, schools, and other sensitive receptors. We demand that the DOC supports a 3,200 foot setback for new wells, existing wells, and the Governor's administration and CalGEM must ban all new permits within the setbacks until the final rule is in effect.

Yes I thought "maybe" we should start our own party, the SEA Party! "Sacrificed Enough Already"! Because we have no more left to give to the GOP and the richest few of the 1% of Americans that they fight to protect. Too many in this country can barely feed themselves each month, and keep their roofs over their heads, and afford their meds! It's not our job to fix the Deficit.
