Stop the Social Security cuts

End Mayoral Control of the New York City Public Schools which has resulted in the politicizing and privitization of education for personal and/or political gain over the education of all children.

On 10/18/12 a NYC notification was issued suspending all MTA subway & commuter rails citywide effective 10/28/12 @ 7pm & MTA bus service as of 9pm. Due to the citywide shutdown & our place of business being without power until 11/3/12, the majority of city employees could not report to their work locations. No contingency plans were in place. Subsequently annual leave time has been reduced. Mayor Bloomberg has the chance to act in a humanitarian capacity & recognize the impact this unprecedented storm had on the city, in which a State of Emergency was declared, closing major roadways, bridges & tunnels. We are calling on the Mayor to do what is right & at least excuse employees the day of the storm 10/29/12 & the day after the storm 10/30/12. Furthermore, any tri state residents adversely impacted by Hurricane Sandy should have their annual leave reviewed on a case by case basis.

We want policy, oversight, accountability , sanction, transparency and a registry of incidences. Programs are not forthcoming with information so students and parents are not making informed decisions.

Treat those who work in the service industry fairly. Its time for change

Eliminate vouchers in schools. Let public schools remain as the dominant force in our education system. Prevent public funds from going to privatized schools. Privatized schools should be left up to parents at their own cost.

Politicians are more busy chasing the money and even bound by it in order to get re-elected rather than being held accountable to its public as should be in our democracy.

Stop the reduction in teachers' status and create ways to assist teachers and their districts, rather than privatize public schools.

We request that all government contracts contain a clause requiring public and private companies and their associated companies can not lobby any part of the governmentwhile contract is active or on going.
