Reclassification of Pilates Studios as Boutique Fitness Studios/MicrogymsAllowing an operation of 1-2 clients to 1 trainer. This is completely manageable based upon the large size of our facility (1200 square feet) and the minimal equipment in our space. At least six feet distance can be easily maintained by a fitness trainer and her clients. Allowing an operation of no more than 4 clients to 1 trainer ratio. This is completely manageable based upon the large size of our facility (1200 square feet) and the minimal equipment in our space. At least six feet distance can be easily maintained by a fitness trainer and her clients. All of these would take place under the guidelines of intensive hygiene requirements, radical cleaning measures, pre-screening of temperatures and brief health history upon arrival, no congregating in common areas allowed, masks to be worn by instructors, admittance permitted upon exit of preceding clients and would assume that high risk populations would be exceptions to this petition.1,484 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Allison Nakisher

Shell Oil has no business in SeattleLet’s send an important message to the Mayor of Seattle, government officials, the Port of Seattle and the World that we as a society need to move towards more sustainable, less-destructive and less polluting forms of energy in order to help create the economy of tomorrow. Climate change is a real concern and this is a chance to do something about it. In 2012 Shell already proved that they cannot safely drill for oil in Arctic Waters. Our beautiful Puget Sound is for salmon estuaries, swimming, sailboats, Orca Pods, pristine water, and beautiful vistas. Let us not risk spoiling this by becoming an Oil Superhighway for Shell’s Arctic Drilling endeavor!1,344 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Max-Jayde Romero

Gov. Snyder: Veto the House Detroit Education BillsThe package of DPS-related bills passed by the Michigan House of Representatives is punitive, petty and dangerous for the people of Detroit. The fact that these bills target only Detroit with unpopular and untested education experiments and anti-union measures shows this is not about what’s best for the children of Detroit—it’s about how the Michigan House can exert power over the people of Detroit. I urge Gov. Rick Snyder to veto the House bills, and I ask the House to take up the bipartisan Senate bills that, while not perfect, give Detroit’s schools a fair chance and offer hope to our students, families, educators and staff.18,677 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by AFT Detroit

Dept. of Justice: Investigate Alabama voter suppressionAlabama just closed 31 drivers license bureaus in minority areas, including all bureaus in the 8 counties where 75% are African-American. Because Alabama requires voters to have photo ID in order to vote, this is a civil rights violation. Please investigate and put a stop to the voter suppression.134,429 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Laura Packard

Petition for a Safe-Usage Technology Policy in Springfield Township School DistrictBackground Information: Currently, in the School District of Springfield Township, students are given far too much free time online, often at the objection of their parents. Middle school students are allowed to scroll YouTube at lunch, despite multiple medical warnings about the hazards of excessive scrolling time on developing brains. YouTube is open and available to students on the school district's network despite parent requests to turn it off. Petition Objectives: We, the undersigned, respectfully urge the Springfield Township School Board to: 1. Develop and implement a Safe-Usage Technology Policy that includes restrictions on providing free time on the internet to children. 2. Establish clear protocols for monitoring and enforcing the policy to ensure compliance and accountability among students, teachers, and staff members. 3. Provide adequate resources and support for the implementation of the policy, including training sessions for educators, indoor play bins for indoor recess purposes, parental involvement programs, and access to age-appropriate educational technology tools. 4. Regularly review and update the policy in response to evolving technological trends and emerging challenges, ensuring its effectiveness in safeguarding the well-being and academic success of our students. Conclusion: As stakeholders in the education system, we recognize the importance of integrating technology responsibly into the learning environment. By implementing a Safe-Usage Technology Policy, we can create a safer, more conducive educational experience for our students, empowering them to harness the benefits of technology while mitigating its potential harms. We thank the Springfield Township School Board for their attention to this matter and look forward to their prompt action in addressing our concerns. Restore the IBI program to help Autistic kids in Ontario who are in most needThe Ontario government recently and with great cruelty and cynicism decided to throw a large number of children off the waiting list for IBI therapy based on subjective science at best. They have unilaterally decided to take all children off the list who are 5 years and older when the list is already 3 years plus in wait time and the majority of children don't get diagnosed until 3 to 4 years of age. Therefore, many children will be denied this much-needed help that was promised to them and their often poorly supported families who only have this hope of help. IBI is an intense form of ABA and is needed by children who have more severe cases of Autism and therefore require the greatest amount of support. It is key in helping them overcome their developmental challenges together with life and social communications skills and makes all the difference between them becoming functional and independent or life-long dependents. Parents whose children will be kicked off the list will receive a one-time payment of eight thousand dollars. This is not even enough to cover 2 months of therapy in most cases, and this therapy is usually needed for a few years to get the required results. This means many families will simply not be able to help their children, or might need to further mortgage their homes, or lose them all together. We, the community of parents who have affected children, respectfully ask that the government not only keep promises made but actually increase the funding that is necessary to have children accelerated on the list because that is what it means to a be caring and fair society; that is what it means to be Canadian. Help us, help our children, restore to them their basic rights to be a full part of their community and to have a voice and place in our world.137 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Daniel Thanos
